Can I hang two lights to overlap light intensity?

Hello All,
I have a scenario I need help with.
This will be my third grow, the first two were not very good.
But my question is about lighting, I used a 600 watt Viparspectre in a 2.5 x 2 tent, but I feel it wasn’t strong enough, buds were not dense. But….
I also have a 300 watt viparspectre, same style. Could I hang them side by side so that the light overlaps on the plant to increase the intensity? Like 600 + 300 for 900 watts of light? (…and yes, I know the actual watts listed on LED’s is Not accurate.)
I really just want to know if it will have an adverse effect or burn the plant?
Is overlapping light ok ?
…. and this would be for a 2.5 x 2 tent

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am doing the same with my Marshydro ts600 & ts1000 (100W & 150W). They work fine together and you can see a noticable difference.

Annoys the hell outta me that these companies call their lights 600W when it's only a 254w (Viparspectra 600W). I think the Viparspectra 300W is actually only 120W. I bought the MarsHydro lights specifically because they didn't put a (W) Watt after 600/1000, they were very clear with advertising the correct wattage.

That's exactly the same reason I switched over to Grow Light Science lights. In fact, GLS model names are rounded off BELOW the actual watts drawn. Like their "Grow 200" is actually 206W and their "Grow 300" is actually 321W. And all the PPF information is clearly put out there with their specs with no BS.

Yes, I have the 600w & 300w viparspectre lights... And at 254 and 120 actual watts I doubt I’ll get the bud density I’m looking for. How many Actual watts do you think I need for dense product in a 2.5 x 2 tent ?

I think its 35w per sq/ft

No. That’s not enough, I’m already using more than that.
If your light is 250w and you’re in a 2.5x2 tent which is 5 sq ft, your watts are 50 per sq ft.
That is more than enough to grow dense buds under LED.
Maybe something else is the problem here.
Is it a blurple light?

I am pretty sure that is exactly what a viperspectre is

I just looked up the light cuz I was curious.
It's a cheap blurple.
Not saying you can't grow under it, you can and guys do, but if you're looking for quality bud you need quality lights.
I don't know that the wattage is your problem because 265 W for 5 sq feet under LED is plenty of watts.
In your case I think it's the light.
It could also be many other things.
If you have some pictures, post 'em. With the blurple light off.

That conversation was about my last grow and what I can do to get better results. Right now I just have a 4 day old seedling and I was seeking info to avoid a repeat of my last grow. *Would those flat SpiderFarm lights be a better choice… I have a 2.5 x 2 so i have heat issues, it gets hot real easy?

I’m sure it was my doing. I hand watered a plant in rockwool. It looked great but it didn’t perform so hot, so to speak. I figure fake nutes, fake medium, bs outcome. I’m using soil this time, I’m still learning. The curing drying part probably wasnt done properly either. Though it was over a month of curing/drying, it was never hard or dense like.
I gave it a C- grade

Fake nutrients? Fake rock wool? User error on some level or another I’d imagine.

Of course you can just watch for light stress.
I've ran 2 x sf2000 in a 5x5 tent before hung at about 34cm from the tops.
This grow I did 3 x sf2000 In the 5x5 tent and got light stressed to fuck at approximately 42cm away from the tops, some where even further away than that too.
