ive been raved to about envirolites, so i think ill just bust them out, a 125w 6400k to start em, and then introduce a 125w 2700k for the flower. yeh im from uk, just above london, rainy here my friend, rainy here!

I would suggest from personal experience to use only 6500k for post germ and sprout phases of the plant... once the first node is visable a mix spectrum will help the plant use photosythesis and thrive.. I use 2700 k and 3300k for flowering it really helped the buds get dense...GL and cheers!

homegrown. good idea with flowering with very slightly diff colours. i am going to flower from now on with 2700, 3000, and 4100. def good idea. sounds like the plant will have like an open bar. a shot of this light, a glass of this colour. def good idea and def would help a little in yield i think not to mention happier plant

I was bringing my little fella up under those mixed spectrum (25000k) but after two weeks i had gone through two of them (cfls go too easy, or at least the ones down here do), so being as the first nodes were up and i didn't have a choice (noone had the purple ones, or even blue ones above 125w :/) I replaced it with the 200w Red 2700k light as replacement (it was that or watch a healthy little plant die.)

I now have it right over the plant in its reflector hood, and am hoping that it won't make that much of a difference.

By the way, those purple bulbs seem very good (not sure as i've no basis for comparison).

Also being as people veg and flower under HPS exclusively, in many large scale crops at least, and thats 2700k light, wouldn't that mean that a 2700k CFL would do the same thing (albeit less powerful?)

Oh by the way, i'm down south o' the border from ya 1982grower ;)

m8 im in the uk aswell and have the same problem i can only get hold of 2700k flourscent bulbs but they have done the job so far first set of leaves and not much stretching under 2 11w,just go with it but i would make the effort that i did and found a shop 10 mins up the road that sells blue daylight simulation bulbs 100w with around a 5000k (daylight) and dosent cost much, also they are bc so they fit into a normal plus socket.

I have used both, and I had good results in Veg, don't know about flowering, I put my outside last time and they got eaten... live and learn I guess.

Currently in my garden, I have way more 2700k lights than daylight bulbs. I'm working on two strains, a kush strain and cinderella. Two Kush plants are sharing 2 65w softwhite, 2 42w softwhite and 1 daylight bulb in the mix. I'll be switching this section to flowering in two weeks. Both plants are very bushy, have nice roots one is further along than the other due to an earlier transplant into a bigger pot. They both share a fan, have very thick main stems about the size of a pinky finger.

The only drawback is that i feel my plants could be a little taller. But my lights have stayed close throughout their entire growth period, except the first 3 days. Started outside.

I may have some pics up soon. Been a little hesitant to show my garden.

Sorry to drag this thread up but any idea's if 2700k's would work throught on and autoflowering strain better as they do away with the veg part don't they?
