CAN-EH-DIANS: Bill C-10 Clarification?

I know that Stephen Harper is planning on passing Bill C-10 soon and to be honest, I really know nothing about politics. I've tried to read up on it but just need a little bit of clarification.

So from what I'm gathering, if you get caught growing 6 or more plants, you are going to have to serve a mandatory sentence of 6 months (minimum), and that if you posses any type of edibles/hash/kif you have a slightly larger minimum mandatory sentence. So, if what I've gathered is correct, what would happen to those who grew 1-5 plants? Would any legal action be taken? Would it appear on their criminal record?

I understand that with the new law if you are in a rented facility a single plant gets you the same mandatory minimum.

Awww seriously? So if I'm renting and I grow one plant I'll get a mandatory minimum of six months in jail? That's such bullshit. Harper is such a joke. I should just go touching kids cause it's a shorter scentence /rollseyes
