Can Anyone Tell If This Was Pollinated?

Well had two Cannadential plants that I put outside 1 month ago when the sunlight was just starting to exceed 12 hours a day. I saved most of my seeds to germ this week as the summer is now coming down here in Rio. Well had to go back to the states for about a week and when I got back one plant went female and the other had more balls than I could believe. Well I should have taken a picture of the male to post here but my instinct was to rip it right away. I think the balls were pretty tiny and underdeveloped so i got it just in time (although to be honest it's so early for me that having one plant to give me a good seed supply wouldn't have sucked).

Anyone here much more experienced than me can tell if I'm safe. (Pic was taken about 5 days after I ripped the male)

Nice hardy little plant particularly since there has been almost no sun for the past month. Looking forward to see what it looks like if I can get her from flowering for a few months.

Started 3 more Cannadentials, a Sharksbreat, and Sour Cream last night also. My Cole Train didn't break it's shell but overall pleased.

In my experience, the only way to know if she has been pollinated is to wait and see if seeds appear. If not, you dodged a bullet. Good luck with her.

Wont know till the buds are bigger, sometimes you can spot a seed while its still growing on the plant, if not, youll find it when your busting the nugs getting them ready to smoke.

your plant has not been polinated. If it had those white hairs would be red or brown and pulled back into the calaxes.

It does have ants on it. Do ants like to eat weed plants?

Not unless there leaf cutter ants or something. Ive had ants crawlin all over my girl, they do no harm.

Thanks for the responses. At first I saw the brown hairs on the end and got paranoid that it was turning brown but then I thought it was just normal after it didn't get completely brown.

"Do ants like to eat weed plants?" - I noticed when they are real young the ants can strip it real fast, especially the leafcutter ants. I had 3 basil bushes taken down overnight just last week. With weed it seems little bothers it once they are well established. But those lttle ants you see will go after anything that touches those plants. I got one on my neck yesterday while taking the picture and have a mark on me the size of a dime. And if they don't get you the ticks will. Had to make sure i hid these things well and where no one would want to go

You have guard ants, awesome.

becareful with ants and your plants. They may not take it on above ground but they can take it out from below ground, roots. I had an issue with ants and while they didnt eat on it above the ground the leaves and what not they were eating the hell out of the roots. Finally got rid of them. Yeah they would attack anything that messed with the plant because it was their home and food. Fire ants suck!!!!!

those ants may have a symbiotic relationship with that plant , it lures in aphids grasshoppers ect and the ants tear them a new one lol .

Stink bugs attack mine they made a nest on it. I need some ants lol. Watch out 4 stink bugs. There just not good there was like 100+ on my plant with in a day lol

That's cool to know, I defintely won't take any steps to get rid of them. Only ones I worry about are the big red leafcutters and I think these little ones keep them away. They are crazy aggressive and don't harm the plants at all. I kind of realized that any sick plant gets destroyed almost immediately and any healthy plant gets left alone. I am all organic which seems to help also. The couple of times I altered my previous grow with chemicals I had insect problems also, this year nothing but mother nature. I'll post new pics when i return and hopefully I'll have better luck on my plants not pulling the autoflower routine since i am now up to 13 hours of daylight. I really want a good 4-5 month veg on my next girls.

my humble oppinion is that it has not been pollinated, it looks way too immature to produce seeds, let us know either way.

Well-pollinated blackberry blossom begins to develop fruit. Each incipient drupelet has its own stigma and good pollination requires the delivery of many grains of pollen to the flower so that all drupelets develop.

And here is a picture of two autoflower plants I have. The one on left has been pollinated for seed production, the one on the right has not. It's a bad picture, but all of the pistils are gone from the pollinated plant, they turned brown and pulled back within a couple day of pollination. The un-pollinated plant still has all it's pistils. some have now turned because of the age of the plant.


The purpose of a pistil is to collect pollen in order to produce a seed, once the pollen has been collected the pistil's job is done, and it dies.

I try to stay open minded to learn new things. I grow from clones so unless there is a hermie (never had one yet) it shouldn't be an issue for me.

i was kidding bout the ants being a good thing , they may well burrow holes in the stalk or whatever. get some neem oil 1.5 tbs per gallon in sprayer spray once a week until resolved up till 2 weeks before harvest .

Its not pollinated unless the male was dropping pollin which is easy to tell. If you didnt see any powder coming from your male your ok. I would get rid of the ants they will burrow into the soil and make tunnels which could hurt your roots. I would move the mulch out around your plant (dont get rid of it just move it out in a bigger circle)and use diatomacous earth on the soil. Soap and water spray also helps.

Well actually happy, never grew a plant with seeds before but since it's barely spring here, and I can grow outdoors all year, I'm pretty damn happy to have seeds for the year. Have 2 more babies growing and will be much more controlled this time. View attachment 1270355

Look very close at picture number one ... enlarge it ... look at the very tips of the pistils. Unless it is shadows or the color on my monitor being inaccurate it appears as if the tips of several pistils are beginning to turn tan or brown. If so that is not a good sign.

dont mean shit. you cant tell.. you will be able to tho, it will be a big, round, swollen pistil if it starts growin a seed. and if so fuck it, more power to you.
