Your answer is "NO"!

No one can give a logical argument that the earth is only 6,000 years old: people may try and say that the world is "young", but they are mistaken.

No one can do that because the bible doesn't teach that it's 6k old.

I'll have to google sources but: humans lived to 1k before the Flood, Noah lived 950 years, Adam lived 930 years and many generations passed between adam and noah's dad who lived 777 years (Lamech). Most scholars agree that Abraham lived about 2000 BC and the Bible says some time passed between the Flood and abraham. Numbers don't add up?

Wikipedia says the idea of 6k came from Judaism,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_6000
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anno_Mundi
The older dates (5500 BC) are based on the Septuagint, the translation of the Hebrew Bible into Greek that was made by Alexandrian Jews and adopted by Christians.

If you look in the king james version, in Genesis 1, God says "Let US create man in our image, after our likeness." And it indicates that this is on the "6th day". Who knows how long is meant by each day? There are plenty of clues that it's not a 24h day... Like in Peter: "But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness." <That is in the new testament concerning "the return", so it might not mean that 1 day = 1,000 years in genesis. I'm just pointing out that a day probably doesn't = 24 hours in genesis.

So in genesis 1 it says God created "man"... Both male and female. Then in genesis 2 it says God completed his work by the seventh day, and blesses the day and rests for the day. After this it says, "These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the 'Lord God' made the earth and the heavens"..

From that point, it starts saying "Lord God" in places where one might expect "God". After this it finally mentions "Adam".... "Eve" still isn't mentioned until sometime after "woman" ate the forbidden fruit, and gave some to her husband to eat also.

Before Noah: "This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him" - bible

So the 6,000-6,100 years applies to years since Adam. IMO, there are more than enough clues to realize that people shouldn't read things literally in any version of the bible. If something doesn't make sense in your mind, maybe it's the way you're interpreting it (maybe not). Most people either completely discredit the bible as myth and fantasy, or they go with interpretations that others push on them, or without a lot of real digging by themselves.

For a long time, anybody that didn't take every bit of the bible literally was put to death. People still believe that some dude 600 years old named Noah, built a boat big enough to fit 2 of every animal that you see on earth today.... And I guess every time it says "40 days and 40 nights" it literally means 24 hours X 40...

"These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God." - bible

I put generations in bold because even though it will say that Noah/Adam/whoever was a man, you shouldn't always look at it like one single person's life. There may have been a dude named Noah at the time and place.... but it's more.

Here is the reasoning:

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Genesis 1:1

“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth…” Colossians 1:16

“And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female…” Matthew 19:4

“But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.” Mark 10:6

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” Romans 5:12

“For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” 1 Corinthians 15:21-22

“And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.” 1 Corinthians 15:45

“And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.” Genesis 3:20

So the creation of Adam and Eve was the beginning, there was no death until Adam sinned, and Eve was the mother of all living. This makes it pretty easy. We just have to add up the dates. Adam was 130 when Seth was born (Genesis 5:3). Seth was 105 when Enos was born (Genesis 5:6). Enos was 90 when Cainan was born (Genesis 5:9).

If you go through the Bible and add up the dates, it is not that hard to do, you will get a date of about 4,000 B.C. for the creation. So, according to the Bible the earth is about 6,000 years old.

The textbooks say the earth is billions of years old. Jesus said the creation of Adam was the beginning. Was Jesus lying? Did he not understand modern science? Or was he right? Could the date of 4,004 B.C. in the Scofield Reference Bible be correct?

No you have no idea how many millions of years it's been GOD destroyed the Earth with the flood, saved Noah and other people they re populated the word with different nationalities, huge break in genealogy no counts of descendants mentioned in THE HOLY BIBLE until millions of years later GOD chooses Abraham of Noah's descendants to start the tribe of Israel. The generation that OUR LORD GOD SAVIOR was born JESUS CHRIST SON of GOD THE ALMIGHTY POWER. You adding ages together to determine the age of the world is erroneous because the lineage has millions of generations missing after the flood until Abraham.

I believe Yahshua was talking about the beginning of man not the earth first of all and secondly in the book of B'rasheet(Genesis) when YHWH said that the years of man would be 120 years he was talking about jubilees, this was after the flood, which are 50 year increments. If that is the case we are coming up to 120 jubilees or 6000 years then will be the millennium where all the believers of Yahshua will reign with him in peace for a 1000 years. However to get back to the original question the Torah says in B'rasheet(Genesis) that Elohim created the heavens and the earth then verse 2 reads the earth was without form and void. The word WAS in Hebrew also translates became or had become(strongs #01961). So the Torah could also say that the earth became without form and void. So between verse 1 and 2 I believe was the overthrow of Ha'satan or the Katabole'. I believe all the angels inhabited the earth before the overthrow of Ha'satan, with various other creatures, then YHWH took them up to the heavens when a third of the angels followed Lucifer. 2 Peter also speaks of different earth ages in chapter 3 I believe it is. Here are more references for the Katabole': Job 38:4, Isaiah 14:12,13 Ezekiel 28:14,15 Jeremiah 4:23-26. Genesis 6 and also the book of Enoch talk of the fallen angels or Nephilim.

read THE HOLY BIBLE and the removed Book of Enoch which was in it. JESUS CHRIST is GOD of mankind our LORD SON of GOD ALMIGHTY. Don't read some chapters taken from the Old Testament and altered of THE HOLY BIBLE, know the time you're in read all of THE HOLY BIBLE. The torah is designed to give you some truth but only to then deceive, people take some truth from THE HOLY BIBLE, blasphemously change it to condemn you, you can thank illuminati go on my thread we can talk about it https://www.rollitup.org/t/the-forbidden-truth.825771/ also I already answered this thread, ^^^^
