Can a Mars hydro Fc 4800 flower a 4x4?

@evergreengardener

This is my FCE-3000 with the bridgelux diodes over a 3x3 scrog frame.

@MarsHydrofactory recommended it for flowering a 3x3 footprint.

the scrog is a little untamed as last time (with HPS) my canopy was only 8” deep and I wanted more vertical growth this time around especially to test out what this light could do as far as penetration was concerned.

So I stopped tucking at 10 days of 12/12 and allowed all vertical growth just to go wild.

I’m pretty impressed up to now compared with the 400w MH/HPS switch out I was using as this is 1 plant In 2 gallons of 100% coco.

Scrog frame is 3ft x 2.7ft.

I'm thinking about putting my FC-E3000 into a 2x2 so I can get the most out of it because I feel like it's too small to be used to it's full potential in a 3x3

What I can tell you is I’m happier using the FCE3000 over my scrog than I was with my 400w HPS setup over the same size scrog.

better density, seems frostier too with less heat to deal with than the HPS.

the next run I’ll be growing 2 plants and scrog them as opposed to the single plant during this run.

This scrog was only my 2nd ever full footprint scrog so I have nothing to base it on really but from what I can see it appears to be one of my biggest harvests to date (full amount won’t be known for another week or so).

It really is a great fixture imo (again nothing to compare against other than HPS).

If you do utilise a 2x2 as @evergreengardener has mentioned be aware you may be going over kill on w/sqft. Lol.

Yeah I'm having second thoughts about that... I do happen to have a 32x32x60 that I'm not using, I'll go with that

I had a long in depth discussion with Mars hydro before I got the FCE3000 as I told them I wanted to be able to flower properly my 3x3 footprint.

the FCE3000 should veg a 4x4 and to be honest I can see that from flowering this 3x3.

I guess the only way I would know for sure would be to grow 4 plants again but I’ve been liking the lower number of plants and longer veg with the scrog.

This time I plan on training the scrog better for more uniformity now that I’ve dipped my toe into scrogging lol.

About a week out and the first run under the FC4800 will be complete. At 480w this light smashed in a 4x4 tent. I will update again before harvest. And once things are chopped I’ll be reloading the tent with clones and starting over I’ll keep this thread going.
