CalMag deficiency? RDWC

Ya ok. So .5 EC. Makes sense now. You can up it a bit. I normally feed @1ec straight through.
Another thing is cover your pails. When there young there’s no shade on the pails. A piece of card board with reflective spray glued will help 10 fold when there young
to keep temps down or what?

You cant really burn anything at 300ppm or 0.6 EC in veg. 0.3 EC for really small seedlings. 1.0-1.4 EC in flower, less is more.

Good luck! Cheers!
also, I’ve been wondering, do you guys mix your nutesto where the EC is higher than needed and then dilute to the EC you need? Or do you reduce the added nutes (while still keeping the same ratio) to acquire the proper EC? For example: if a chart says mix X of this and X of that per gallon, and that results in an EC 1.6, and you need an EC of .4, is it okay to add nutes at 1/4 strength per gallon to get the EC you want?

Easier to dilute down yes. I mix mine a little stronger than final solution. Maybe 0.2-0.4 EC over final solution. If I aim for 0.8 EC then I dilute down from 1.2 EC.

It's always the same ratio it's just the strength that changes. I add back maybe 1/5th strength when I top off the reservoir if it's needed. If EC is higher than desired strength I only top off with RO water.

i think your GH trio is too low mL/gal and your cal/mg too high.

something like 1 to 1.5 mL/gal of your trio and 1mL/gal of cal/mg IMO.

also check out Lucas formula. only micro and bloom. shouldn't need cal/mg even with RO.
Why confuse the guy more? We all know what he could do but we don’t mention it so we don’t confuse him. He’s a newbie at this we’re trying to help. He has the 3 part let him use it. He needs calmag the general rule with RO is 5 ml a gallon. Why do you have to come here and say he doesn’t?? He’s a newbie again we are try to help him.
coming on here and saying different doesn’t help.
you’ve been here in this forum since what day one? You’d think you would know by now. Geez.

He's completely correct in his statement though. "Calmag" is for peat based soil mixes and coir, it has no place in hydroponics.

I find the flouride keeps the cavities away lol. I always have used city tap water just make sure to sit for 24 hrs and make sure its room temp first. Only thing i see is your temps and humidity is pretty low i find i get nutrient issues if i run to low with a low ph. I run at 6.2-6.3 with letting ph fluctuate cause with my low res and air temps it doesnt move nutes as good is my best guess everytime i try running lower ph i have defficiencies. Have u calibrated your ph pen lately? How do the roots look but to me it looks like what happens when roots are small it may move mobile nutes from low fan leaves but its shouldnt do it as plants roots get bigger.
“flouride keeps the cavities away” that is freaking hilarious. Laughed way too hard at that comment.

This is the first I’ve heard that CalMag is essentially useless in hydro. I’ll have to look it up. Considering hydroponics is inert(until you add the nutes) and considering plants need calcium and magnesium, it would stand to reason that they would have to get that ca/mg from somewhere. And if there’s enough calcium and magnesium in the flora trio to begin with, why would it need calmag in soil? I mean I can understand with coco coir. I’ll have to research that, doesn’t really make much sense.

i never add cal/mg just three part my neighbor said that one day why are you adding calmg im like i dunno i read on forums hes like ive grown twenty years with gh never have i added calmg its in micro already just

no cal mag is in micro i never supplement it but it does say on bottle add calmg if using ro water i use tap water so i dont have to spend the extra nute money on calmg or wry about lack of water issues. Why dont you just use tap water every single person in rl who grows just uses tap water that i personally know. I actually have a ro machine but figured whats the point then i have to buy and add more nutes increasing my n at the same time.

by reducing his nutes to 2 bottles?? LOL. i've read his posts and i would bet you a hundy that @ddeck96 will not be confused by my suggestions.
Have u tried the lucas formula? Does it work good? i know end of flower when i go to just micro and bloom my ph is far more stable so was wondering if that would be a issue as i like my ph to swing first up from 6.2 then down to 5.5 but only lower than 6.0 for 1 day max ever.

the issue i have with adding cal/mg is that most people don't need both at the same time. and it also adds way too much N too.

if you have a mg issue, use epsom
if you have a cal issue, cutting edge solutions makes a cal additive.

i would say it works good enough. i used it for many years via 3 part, floranova and maxibloom.

and that's what many people don't realize: the GH feedchart for most of bloom is Lucas formula.

right now, my favorite nute is Jack's RO formula with my well water. nothing else needed. i'm running it start to finish now the last 2 runs.

I tried the hard water lucas, went lower then the 9/18.Wasnt really happy with it.changed more to 9/12 and that worked better.Im in canada so a gallon here is crazy$ so i stick to dry nutes now.

no. JRPeters is the maker. alot of people use the Jacks 3-2-1 but they have come out with 2 cannabis formulas: RO and Tap.

the Tap and my well water didn't go together well re: pH. but the RO formula is awesome. it was pH stable for 14 days in my DTW res.

This depends on strian, tap water ,nutes etc.My GG4 is a calmag hog with my water.

Ya i bought a huge gh supply at a hydroponics going outa business auction i litterally have enough for a decade growing veggies and weed but im always learning and simplifying. When i started i was adding all kinds of crap now im dialed on only 3 part with far better results but would be great to go down to two part. So thats per gallon?
