Calling BS on Purple Arrow's flowering time

There's a WA strain called Purple Arrow that I smoked a while back, and decided I really liked the peppery/lemony taste, so I bought some clones from the same collective. Long story short, after VERY intense lighting, DWC hydroponics, 35% humidity and within 70-85, 77 average, 9 weeks later, no light leaks, and a very fine and expensive consumption of nutrients, within a correct pH, I am ready to chop my 2 purple arrows in a few days. So in total, the flowering period will be about 9.5 weeks. About 3 weeks shy of when I was hoping to chop them down, which was soooo early considering they've tripled in size since then.

It did seem to mature fast, like a lot of amber hairs early on, but clear trics for a long time, so I could see why someone thinks its a 6 week strain, and chops it down in 6-8 weeks. I was really pretty disappointed in the strain, until it started bulking up really late. My bubblegum looked twice as big over a week ago, but now the BG is chopped and the 2 purple arrows are looking to have pulled ahead in yield. I accidentally pulled knocked a string that was holding a bud from the sealing on the PA, it completely decapitated the bud lol, string still attached I just hanged it in my closet and cured it for 4 days, and JEEZ its a sweet, peppery, lemony smoke. Even actually has some purple in it. So far it tastes completely different than the collective stuff though, there's was more peppery, mine is more sweet. Still has some peppery though, but like a three way split with the flavors above. Can't wait to smoke the stuff I'm pulling in a 4 days, after a 3 week cure.

I am very satisfied with the 2 strains I picked in the end, both are just complete opposites in highs and flavors it seems like. I used big bud, overdrive, floralicious plus by GH, and clearex, which really seemed to make the bud sweet.

I've already got the bubblegum curing in jars, and my god, it was grassy smelling for only like 1 day, its already got a quality bud smell to it, like at least in top 10 strains if you went in a solid collective, but shit its only cured for like 4 days! But its smoother than most stuff I smoke! Prolly cause I flushed it in DWC for 2 weeks, I hear that DWC flushes the plant a lot better than most alternatives.

Its so amazing that you have complete control over how the bud you smoke turns out, and even better when you have no complaints about it (and trust me, I'm a complainer lol).

Let me know if you've done a purple arrow grow and it turned out to actually be fully done at 6 weeks! Mine was a clone so that'd be interesting. I was super anal about light leaks throughout the grow, but you never know.

I always flip 12/12 then after 10-14 days I start counting for flowering time, minimum 70 days except for clones

That's arbitrary then. Simply count at flip.

Besides a plant is done when she is done. It doesn't matter what a breeders or bank says unless you want an immature harvest

I don't bother counting because it is ridiculous anyway. The plant decides when it is ready. Use a scope and take away all the guessing. Or be like that idiot Rosenthal "a plant is ready when the buds glisten and has a fragrance"...

Well I don't agree of Rosenthal being an idiot. But agree with you on the plants done when it is done. I think it is stupid to count any time after the flip. Just is arbitrary and has no fucking consistency in conversation with others, or when talking about a known clone.

Actually, I think your the idiot for taking a small little snippet of a quote from a master botanist who obviously knows about trich development and proper harvest times.
