Alright guys, I've been lurking the forums for months now, it's time to start my 2010 outdoor log!
I'll be doing 40 plants outside. Half will be in 5 gallon buckets, half will be planted straight into ground. I'm starting all of them in jiffy pots with Fox Farm soils. The ones to planted into buckets have a mix of 1 part fine perlite 4 parts FFOF. The ones to be planted into ground are in 3 in jiffy pots with the same mix of FFOF and perlite, and were then set inside a larger jiffy pot with a mix of the ocean forest and FF's outdoor soil. My reasoning for this is to acclimate the plants more slowly into the mixture of the Pacific clay soil im dealing with which will be amended with some FFOF and probably some happy frog ferts. I'll be watering and foilar feeding with Grow Big. Any recommendations on nutes??
Strains: Like the headline says, I'm doing P Kush(13), Cheese(6), Blackberry(10), and Casey Jones(10). I've also got a Blue Dream Teenager that I started indoor about 2 mos ago. It's really been through some shit: It was started under t5 fluoro and was blowing up pretty well. Unfortunately, the spot that I was growing at was no longer suitable for indoor growing, so I had to bonsai it (had already started LST) and make it look like it was a part of my regular outdoor garden. I cut all but the middle fan leaves, and trimmed some bottom branching. I also took the oppertunity to experiment and top it. I didn't expect it to make it with the harsh SF winds, the pruning, and the wet weather we'd been having...but it pulled through and had been living on my roof (through some pretty heavy storms). Well folks, the fan leaves came back, and the stalk is a monster for the height of this plant which had been stunted for a while form the stress. I'm confident that this BD will absolutely KILL outside. You can see the nute deficiencies on the BD fan leaves that were there when it was pruned. All new growth is healthy.
