Cali Crusher grinder is stuck

I have one of those quarter turn grinders from Cali Crusher and I was grinding some super sticky bud and went to open it and it is completely stuck. I took the cap and the keef catch off and tried with my hands and vice grips to get this sucker undone with no success for about 6 months now. It only left vice grip teeth marks in the metal and dented it. Is there anything yall can think of for me to be able to twist it to get it unstuck?

Put it in a dish with some isopropyl. You'll lose the weed but at least the grinder will be clean.
Thats a great idea. The weed and keef are long gone lol I ran dry and forgot I had a full grinder and had to get it out through the holes in the top

One of my grinders gums up like that.
Iso dissolves the gum and lets you disassemble it.

Heat.

I tried the iso last night for several hours and its still locked. I think the weird threads that make it a quarter turn are somehow cross threaded or something. I'm going to try cannabineer's suggestion of heat next

Heat it and then soak it in ISO. I don't know how you guys can spend so much on a grinder. I've been using the same $12.95 "Gem Cutter" grinder for over 6 years and it's just as sharp as the day I got it. I just clean it, every time it starts to stick, and it still looks and works like it did the day I got it.

You probably broke it with the vice grips

If you didn't break it with the vice grips try boiling it I always boil my grinders to clean them
The vice grips didn't dent the affected part, it was stuck before the vice grips. I boiled it and it still won't budge. I think it is a mechanical issue with the threads. There is a fingernail size gap in between the middle sections and this is my problem, at least thats my guess. At this point I think its a loss unless I can buy just the middle pieces for a discount price somehow but thank you and everyone else with the help.

Hit the top of it super hard if you knock it flat it might open up. It might chew the threads up but at least you get the weed out if the grinders a loss

I am very blazed right now, and am going to make a bold and controversial statement that is not helpful at all to the situation at hand, but gonna say it anyway.

I don't like grinders, I think they are disrespectful to the beautiful calyxes to mash and crush them like that :o

I am old and grumpy and stuck in my ways. If I have the time I still prefer to pull it apart by hand, or will also use a sharp pair of Fiskars and cut it very gently lol. I don't like all my resin getting knocked off the flower and winding up in the grinder either. Now get off my lawn!

Kidding. Hope you get the grinder unstuck!

Haha I feel the opposite I hate all the wasted stickiness on my fingers and the sticky fingers make it harder to roll. If I use my grinder everything that would have got stock to my fingers ends up as kief

I have spent countless hours over the years arguing this point with my friends, you will never win me over lol. If its too sticky thats when I resort to the scissors.

Haha I know I won't. I know many people with the same logic one way a grinder wins is I'll have my first joint done an smoked before you get one rolled so it gets you high faster that's for sure! even if I lost something from the grinder I have plenty more to grind up haha

I really love my blue bus ceramic coated grinder. No more scraping the pegs clean just a little clean out with a small paint like brush here and there. I try to not tap or scrape this grinder because the coating is non-stick. I’ve been super happy after switching from my old grinder, this doesn’t have that funky metal smell either

Your metal grinder shouldn't have a funky smell... Those ceramic ones are dope and really cheap and do stay clean alot longer. I put a bunch of super wet weed through mine when I got it the kind of stuff that would clog my bigass $80 sharpstone with 1 bud. The ceramic grinder chewed right through it no sticky residue left....that being said they do break easily when stuff finally starts to build up if you don't clean it you can break a couple teeth off I lost 2 teeth on mine because I'm to lazy to clean it but it still works great I don't think it really needed those 2 teeth haha

I think @Nizza was talking about the cheap pot metal grinders that are basically zinc/brass alloys that are chrome plated. They have a brassy metallic smell to them once the chrome wears off.
