Hmmm..He recommended that we use a Reptile light...? Did you not knock the reptile light earlier? Yeah, that guy has alot of info to spit out, but I don't follow him on a few idea's.. I am hittin the sack, thanks for the link, maybe I will throw down tomorrow on where I am not following him...
Please keep in mind that I'm not an expert on Reptile lighting.... As far as I know there are 3 basic types of reptile lights. floro, cfl, and MV. 2 of these are not even worth mentioning (MV & cfl) and the 3rd one (floro) is too WEAK to have an effect on a descent RADIUS crop, but instead the SMALL fraction of a canopy.If you MUST buy one, get a long bulb (36" or longer) becasue the majority of the UVB the bulb produces comes from the middle, with not much coming from the sides. Also: the UVB in those weak reptile floros will disapate quickly over short distances.UVB rays don't travel fast and bounce around like UVA rays do. The top colas COULD be getting UVB, and at the same time 1 foot below and next to it will get almost nothing. If you do decide to buy one be sure that you are clear on the ACTUAL UVB output. When these lights advertise 10% UVB they are talking about 10% of the UV output is UVB. So if a lizard light puts out 20% UV and 10% of that is UVB ,then in actuallity your not really getting 10%.At the same time if a lizard light were to give out 40% UV and 6% of that is UVB then that would be the light emitting the most UVB. The last and most LEAST important reason is because most but not all lizard lights stop letting out UVB rays after about 6 months. The light may not be burnt out but its not doing its job either. There are many ways to stimulate the production of resin withOUT UVB. If you are growing in a room with plenty of space,no heat issues and u got $$$, I would recommend looking into suntan booth lights, or psoriasis treatment bulbs.The lizzard light in my view is not the most practical idea.

Yeah, I am not really into UVB right now, I have alot of other things to get dialed in before I make another change. How much UVB does your 400w put out? That is the reason you bought that bulb right? I am going off memory here, but I think that is what you said. I will check out the suntan booth lights, or psoriasis treatment bulbs, and see the cost. Maybe there will be a business close out at some point...How has your ventilation and co2 come about?
Yes I bought the 400w mostly on the idea that MH put out UVB. which it does however it doesn't produce that much. The curvature and roundness of the bulb is intended to PREVENT UVB rays from escaping. The glass lens on my reflector blocks about 95% of the UVB from getting to the plants. But its cool, i bought the bulb cheap as hell on ebay, and works really good for veg. so its all good. My box is set up and ready, just waiting on clones...

Got it! Well I hope those clones get in that box soon! I am transferring my veg plants tonight, they are on the average height of 16" with about 10 nodes. They should turn out real nice! And my clones are coming out of the aero box tomorrow, they are about 12" already, so they are going to be monsters, since I am going to veg them for another 2 weeks! Later munch!

Hey chris thats great to hear your system is kicking ass right now. mines not. been having a lot of trouble getting clones. this was supposed to be so easy. u know. just get them when ever i need half grown with no need for vegging. but that all turned to shit. first the guy said he couldn't give out the cotton candy or his source would cut him off for selling clones to people.so he said that he can get the urkle, but the guy hasn't called back yet its been a LONG time. Now hes talking about he can get me some clones but they are not that good. he called it "magic". I said, "cool does it grow magical buds?"and he said no but if i know magic it should smoke alright. sounds like shitty mexican bammer buds. i'm not sure why somebody would bother cloning it if it grows shitty buds. maybe its a high yielder. I found a way to get the cotton candy. the cotton easily makes my top 5 indica all time best buds ever list. check out these seeds i found from federation seeds. I will be expanding bro. just as soon as i figure out how to fit in my new LEDs...

Have you given any more thought into flowering with 1 MH bulb?(1MH/3HPS) The HPS bulb does give off more Lumens than an MH bulb. Lumens is just a measurement of light that the EYE can see.HPS naturally has more lumens because it is high in the yellow end of the light spectrum. humans have adapted very well to yellow(sun) light. tell you the truth chris, you don't need a whole lot of yellow.What matters is USABLE light, that reaches the plant/Lux. HPS gives off a little bit of red which is good of course, but I think your plants would thrive much more under mixed lighting. Ask expert growers will tell you the same. MH conversion bulb for blue spectrum.
Problem solved. the solution to the fan cycle problem is to do what mr. fake was talking about. turns out he was right all along.the solution for flowering is to run constant co2 for 12 hours @.05 cfm in 77-82 degrees/ followed by a 15 min. intake fan cycle for fresh air circulation. at the end of the 15 minute intake fan window the tempuratures in the room drop to 72 degrees. the co2 never shuts off during the light cycle unless the emergency exhaust fan turns on. But that does not seem to happen. I UNDER ESTIMATED how cold the co2 is and how much its able to cool a room down. Now that the co2 is pumping full time at a weak slow rate, the co2 seems to be right on, but i'm not sure the exact ppm in the room still. i need a tester, but don't want to spend any money. wish i knew somebody that has one..... oh well
I used the grow calculator and it is saying that it would take the co2 tank 75 minutes to fill my grow cab up to 1500 ppm @ .05 cfm, and thats assuming none of the air is escaping, and none of the plants are consuming co2, which is not the case. So at the end of the 3 hours,with just a 6" circulation fan and co2 running, I estimate that the co2 levels inside the grow cab must be somewhere in the 2000's. Filthyfletch, what makes you think or where did you hear that co2 toxicity sets in past 2000ppm ?
