”Buzz”-free fan? (Electronic/motor)

Hello.

Im chasing the ”silent grow” and Ive gotten a long way. I just got myself a variac transformer and it really helped bringing the fan noise and woosh down on a cheap 60-70$ 4” no-name inline fan.

I alsl enclosed it inside a box and its very quiet, however when its this quiet I have noticed that it got a humming/buzzing/vibrating going on from ”electronic”, the case where you put the wires.

Its a very low pitch sound that likes to travel, that kind of sound you know ”its def something there” when its dead quiet in the house.

What worries me is that I can hear this sound in another room, almost like it travels with the concrete walls and since I can hear it, Im concerned that my neighbours can too.

Question : Is there higher-end fans that doesnt have this noise?

Its not the normal buzz that comes from using cheap controllers, you dont hear this sound in the same room but the next room.

Anyone know what sound Im talking about?

Terra Bloom Silent Series is silent on low and 20db at full throttle. But they are not cheap. They will also require a thermostate to be cut into the power cord to prevent it from going to full throttle when it starts up.

I looked at those fans they look nice. Mine are old and might order a few of their 8” fans. They’re not too bad on power usage either.

I could not be happier with mine. I have a very large carbon filters they take about $125.00 of activated carbon to recharge and the fan has no issue's pulling through it at 1/3 speed which is where I run my 6" on the veg. side. I run my 8" on bloom side at about 50%. It will get dialed down once we get into Sept. a little more.

What size area do you ventilate with that equipment?

I have the Can Fan Max Pro 6". It does not have this whine when turned down using it's built in speed controller. I have also used it with a variac. Don't forget, insulated ducting helps a lot with noise too. Using 6" duct and fan instead will allow the same airflow with less noise.

I have heard good things about the hyper fan stealth, but not used myself.

A ridiculously small one for the size. 8" is bloom 6'x10'x5'9". able to run the fan at 1/3 speed which reduces noise during summer months. 6" is veg. 6'x6'x5'9". I spect I will be able to slow them down even more in the winter. Way over kill and way quite.
