Burnt Tips, Leaves Curling Upward

Hi all,

I have 2 auto's (Blue Dream and Sour Diesel) in 3g Vivosun Fabric Pots. They are around 5 weeks old and have entered the pre-flowering stage. I am noticing that ever since I flipped the 'Bloom' light on in the tent that these guys went from a watering every 3 days to pretty much every day. When they were in their veg state, I would feed them at every watering but now it looks as if with the extra heat from the lights and the smaller pot size, I have to water them everyday. Is the brown tips caused by nutrient burn or light heat/stress? I have the light about 20" from the sour diesel since she is the taller of the two plants and about 24" from the blue dream. I've switched to a water-feed-water cycle as I would hate to feed these guys everyday even with 1/2 or 1/4 of the recommended dosage. I gave them a watering today and they were hovering around 900-1000PPM which seems adequate for this early in the flowering cycle.

I've put the light up to the highest level from the canopy but I would think that light burn would affect the top layer and it seems the burnt tips is affecting multiple spots on both plants.

Could be from a past issue with that showing up on the lower leafs. What is your medium autos usually don’t require a lot of food especially in soil. Room temp and humidity would help as well also do have fresh air intake and a good exhaust system going

They are in a mix of 'big-box' store potting soil with added perlite for a 75/25 ratio. I'm running an AC Infinity Setup with heat sensor positioned in the middle of the tent that will adjust the fans if the temperature or humidity drop outside of the comfort zones. I've been noticing that ever since I've flipped the bloom and veg light on, the tent is hovering around 83-85 degrees so the fan is running at pretty much at a 5 all day to cool it down as much as possible. I've even flipped the oscillating fan to a 2 out of 3 setting in hopes of cooling it down some.

My tent is upstairs with a 2-zone heat-pump setup and I've noticed that with my wife playing the 'AC Game' with me, she will knock the upstairs temperature up to like 78 degrees (she's pretty much a lizard) whereas I like it at 74 degrees to help my own personal comfort as well as the comfort of my two girls.

Is it normal to water these guys everyday once they flip into pre-flower/flower? Do you feed auto's everyday with an amended dosage rate or should I stick to the water-feed-water schedule now?

Yeah you can but I would water them heavy every two to three days your probably loosing some water to precipitation if you have low humidity with those high temps also I would cut back on the food and do a few plain waters as there should be enough in your soil to keep autos happy in a ten gallon pot

Temps arent that high in my opinion. 82-83 is money. The fan doesn’t cool anything it moves air thats it. Pics and light info will help. It’s normal to need to water daily in 3 gal fabric.

I have a humidifier in the tent but its running at about 25% to keep the humidity between 40-55%. I'm definitely noticing that with the smaller pot size they dry out fast as opposed to the 5g I have outside (Purple Hulk) which is constantly in 85+ degree temperature. I dump around 64oz per plant and get a good amount of runoff in the saucer's but I'm going to stick with the water-feed-water schedule as I'd hate to see the PPM's spike up even with cutting the recommend dosage.

Here you go good sir. The 2nd pic is with the lights off as with the color spectrum, its hard to snap a true picture of the plants.

I've read that 750-950PPM is where you want to be with weeks 1-4 of flowering, I'm at the higher end of the threshold but this was when I was dumping the entire 'recommend' dosage with the plants. I've found some info on FastBuds that states that you want to use a certain percentage of chemicals because most companies base their dosage's on photo plants, not auto's. So this week I've been cutting the dosages down to 1/4 and even an 1/8 and even did a pure water one day in hopes of knocking the nutrients out.

That's what I figured because I've scoured the internet for light burn and it seems that would only affect the top canopy...I'm going to give them some pure water in the next couple of watering's and monitor the ppm. When I get them below the 500 mark, I'll introduce nutes back but at a discounted rate.
