Bunk Nirvana AK-48 feminized seeds...

I ordered 10 White Widow and 10 Bubblelicious, I germinated 4 of each all 4 Bubblelicious seeds rooted, none of the WW's did,
Planted the 4 Bubblelicious and 3 sprouted and growing fine, Put 4 more WW's in and nothing, so I put the other 2 in and nothing,
All 10 seeds were crap. Got 2 free UFO seeds both are growing great. Going to be the last Nirvana seeds I buy,
I can see some not being good but all ten?

Wow. I've had the opposite experience so I want to make sure the other side gets heard. Grown a number of Nirvana strains including AK48, Bubblelicious, and now Ice. Never had a problem germing-- at least 9 of ten each time-- in fact I can't remember losing any.

Re: AK48-- the one plant kept as a mother is rock solid. 18" plants yield over an oz. each time. Sweet fruity smell. Flowers EXTREMELY fast (hence the "48" as in "48 day flowering period"-- the plant btw has apparently no relation whatsoever to AK47 except a play off the name) and sticky sticky sticky. I have a friend who refuses to smoke anything else now. It's a staple.

Re: Nirvana-- Grown plants from Greenhouse (WW), Seedsman (WW, orig. Haze), G13 (Pure Gold), and KCBrains (Leda Uno) along with a landrace Afgani and a bunch of local bagseed. The Nirvana strains are easily on par with the other breeders. My least fav. of Nirvana is Bubblelicious only because the buzz feels like a sedative. The worst I can say about Nirvana is that the strains sometimes lack uniformity-- but never had a problem picking a few real winners out of a batch of ten. And as a matter of fact the Seedsman WW was the worst for this; had phenos so different I couldn't believe they were the same strain.


Re: Germing-- It looks like your method is sound (use a variation of paper towel method too here) so maybe you were just very unlucky. I'm usually skeptical about complaints about germing. Unless seeds are VERY old or somehow mistreated it's hard to make seeds that won't germ under the right conditions. The few times I've had whole batches that wouldn't pop I sooner or later realized there was a crucial error on my part (like when I cooked them instead of warmed them). Also, in my experience, when they crack but the tap root never comes out strong it's been because of a fungus or something. With a loupe I could see a slimy sheen on the seed casing and the start of mold.

To OP: Good luck with the second attempt. I hope you get satisfaction regardless. I know how it feels to do all the waiting for nothing.

I had given up on Nirvana, and am still bummed at the month+ lost since the first batch failure - but I guess I will give them another shot...

Hi, lurking newbie here!

Nirvana doesn't reply by e-mail - it does say so on the site. I had the same poblem at first until I realized they replied through the help desk! They replied to my questions really quickly so I would check there. They obviously sent you new seeds so I'd be surprised if you really had no reply.

I'll ask them about it if you want?

ive heard a lot of folks bash nirvana, and i really cant fault them i've had no probs germing and had great results with the ak48 got 4oz each off 3 plants



sorry to hear you had a problem OP. nothing in life is guaranteed tho bud, chalk it up to experience an all that but i wouldnt write nirvana off they do budget seeds that produce the goods

Bought some Nirvana Blue Mystic (fem) about 2 weeks ago. Three seeds looked great, 2 were really small. The big ones all sprouted out of the rockwool in less than 72 hours, the 2 small ones haven't apeared after 6 days. This is my 2nd grow, and my first with Nirvana, but those 2 seeds were obviously below par and immature.

The first grow was with Joey Weeds AK47 x NL. All healthy looking seeds, 100% sprouted, great upbeat high.

Beautiful plants Dave,
My grow from Nirvana
5 AK -48 Fems
5 White rhino fems
5 Jock horror fems
All Ak and WR germed and 2 Jock horror germed
The AK -48 was an amazingly fast vegger and the White Rhino was potent as any I have tried.
Rock hard buds as well.
Btw I grew all fems and did not have a single hermie.
I would suggest Nirvana fems to any new grower.
Good luck with your replacement seeds.

Even tho this thread is from August. Im hear to defend Nirvana. Ive done Blue Mystic, Papaya, Bubbleisious and AK-48. I have not lost 1 seed. Sure a few phenos were diff but that expected. They should have scratched the seed a lil bit. Heres my AK-48 that comes down tomm..

Thanks growone! I had 10 feminized seeds and 9 germed. I gave away a couple and grew 6 in a tent with one 600 watt light. Quality was amazing and I really didnt need to do much either. Although Im growing some white widow at the moment from green house seed company and looks like its gunna out due the nirvana in quality but not in yield. Regardless, the nirvana was still great and could take just about anything you can feed it. Very strong/vigorous strain. Thank you for the kind words though.

yeaaaa im just now germinating my white eidow seeds from nirvan.. only germing two.. hopin they both germ.. i got 10 freebies too.. and i head that alotta the freebies dont germ.. but i germed 2. and they had a descent taproot in 4 days... soo idk. he must a got a bad batch.. if you write nirvana and tell them that.. they will most likely send you new seeds.. ive heard of plenty of people doing that.. but so far so good from nirvana.. got my seeds in 8 days with 2 holidays.. christmas and new years.. i have my white widow journal in my sig. if anyone wants to check it out... i just germinated today tho..

just germed 10 nirvana ak48..all sprouted and are doing fine,service was fast and stealth great,first time cust. so i'll keep my hopes up.

I have had great success with Nirvana!

I purchased qty 5 Wonder Woman and qty 5 AK-48 from the web site. The seeds were sent very discreet and received quickly. All 10 seeds sprouted within 48 hours and all grew relatively uniform (per strain) throughout veg. Of the 10 plants, I chose the best pheno from each strain to keep as mothers, and flowered the remaining 8 plants under a 1000w HPS. I ended up with 601g from the 8 plants.

However, I have noticed that the smell and flavor varies across the AK-48 phenos. One plant in particular was REALLY smelly.

I surely hope that your replacement batch worked out!

AK48 is great weed. I've grown it twice...my buddy thinks it's the greatest that he's ever smoked.

I too have never had any problems with Nirvana seeds and I've made at LEAST 8 orders with Nirvana.

In fact, I currently have my last two seeds going right now.. that I got from Nirvana.. and they're both doing absolutely wonderful!

I got my last AK48 going.. today is day #2 of week #2 of flowering. She's a hairy women.. LOL. Then, I also have my last 'Ice' plant going as well. She's in flowering as well, but she's only been under the 11/13 light schedule for 5 days as of today.. so she hasn't begun to actually flower just yet.. but she's doing great too. They're both doing absolutely wonderful.. and are healthy as can be.

IMO, sure.. sometimes people will get a bad seed from time to time. It's bound to happen.. and it does happen. Some people just don't get it.. just don't understand.. and get pissed just because something didn't go their way. That's life though.. just have to go with the flow. That's what I do anyhow..

Also, I think that sometimes.. people (especially noobs) will try and act like, because something went wrong.. they immediately want to point their finger and find someone to blame.. except themselves. So, IMO.. I don't think its the seed companies fault.. I personally think its the grower themselves that's making the mistakes.. and instead of taking responsibility for their mistake.. and owning up to it.. they tend to point the finger in some other direction.. instead of taking responsibility for their mistakes.

Just my opinion though.. but i think its pretty accurate. ;)

I too have had nothing but great experiences with Nirvana. I've ordered their Master Kush, Bubblicious, Wonder Woman and AK-48. Their seeds always pop just fine for me. The Bubblicious and AK-48 are still vegging. The Master Kush was phenomenal with buds bigger than soda cans. The Wonder Woman was a freebie and it turned out to be a runt. Nirvana has great customer service too. If you let them know you have a problem, they always replace the seeds. They're the only place I buy seeds from.
