The first thing I thought of when I heard the speech is how much he sounds like my dad - and probably everyone else's. Then, it occurred to me just how important it is to have had the benefit of hearing such a lecture and of being familiar with it's content.

Too many black kids growing up in the ghetto are not lucky enough to have such a role model. I truly believe, that more than anything, is the source of their problems.

Anyone can be a dad, not very many people have what it takes to be a good father.
