Built small grow box.. What soil should i use?

I have 6 23 watt 6500k cfl in my little box with 2 bag seed seedlings under them i used miracle grow seed starter to get them started i know miracle grow is a "no no" but its what i had... this is only my second year growing so i could use some help with soil, nutrients, and any suggestions to improve my grow box is more than appreciated

Fox Farms Ocean Forest...from there you can decide on liquid nutrients and what-not. OR you can just use pH balanced water for the entire grow. Up to you, both methods work with that grow medium.

Congrats on making it another round . You'll probably be fine but I wouldn't use that miracle grow crap anymore. Here's a nice article comparing different soils that you can use. Per the article and also my opinion, I would suggest either the Foxfarm ocean forest soil or the Roots organic soil. As far as nutrients, I would stick to the dry powder nutrients.

I made it from a plastic tote put a couple computer fans in their and covered the inside with aluminum foil.... And thanks guys ill be sure to check out that foxfarms stuff

Ohhh ya, the good stuff. I got lucky and drove past a garden store down the street and they had a advertising sign up for FF. Stopped in and picked up a bag of the ocean forest. Owner said all the pot growers kept requesting it and now her regular customers love it too.

One my plants has one of its leaves all curled up? Why is this happening?

Too close to your CFL ?

Too hot in your box?

Yeah thats probly it, i moved the lights up a couple inches hopefuly that will help

They are starting to recover but some of the newer growth on one of the plants is sort of purple. Are they supposed to show colors this soon? They are only 2 and half weeks old.

Ditch the foil there is a 100 different better alternatives even just white paint

For what it's worth, I've been having great success with my current little grow using Kellogg's Patio Plus. I started the little seedlings in MG Seed Starter (worked just fine) and transferred roughly a week later. As for nutrients, I plan to wait until she's about three, maybe four weeks old, and then gradually begin using Dyna-Gro Foliage Pro.

I've heard great things about FFOF, but have yet to try it myself. What convinced me to go the Kellogg's route is the fact that it's easily found at Home Depot/Lowe's for $6 and is well respected in the cannabis community as a decent and ubiquitous soil.

I was hoping someone would post about something i could get from lowes/walmart because the closest store with fox farms is like 70 miles from my house. Ill be sure to pick up a bag of that kelloggs stuff thanks for the suggestion
