A good buddy of mine had the same idea sort of...he had a farm in upstate NY - buried 2 40ft containers underground and started a grow operation to help fund the failing farm...well i bet ya can guess what happened...hes doing a dime in Danamora....my point.....be careful and never get greedy....Good luck bro, i wish ya the best and stay safe

i think the best way to do this is to get a backhoe.if you cant borrow one just rent it and dig the hole under the porch and just extend it to the basement adn you can make it a secret room. or get a hammer and shovel adn just start down in the basement and like make an extra room.youll never get caught....
or wait....just get a grow tent or make a stealth cab out of your dresser....i dont know man

Long story short he had it pretty much covered...he had a diesel gen set buried too with the stacks exhausting above the ground- no electric usage.. Ever been in upstae ny in the winter...snow snow snow...guess what the area looked like around the buried containers and gen set...yup...no snow surrounded by 3 ft everywhere else. caught the eye of a state trooper chopper (no ir ), and they started watching the place and about 4 months later he was toast. The lession is cover all your angles...and let no one know what your doing and where ya doing it.

"holy crap i wonder why our electric bill doubled and our deck glows at night" p.s ballasts are noisy and so are fans. Moisture will will your worst enemy. Your talking major construction, don't hit any power lines, and like someone already said, its gonna smell.

also might mess up sum foundation and rain might mess with it here when i grow outside i have to make sure its kidda a high spot most of the time we get a lot of rain at once and kidda floods in spots

hey, where is upstate NY? i'm in upstate NY with a lot of farms around me!
just curious to know what city or town he was in

AND what about ballasts being noisy?

It was Delaware County NY.....ya might even be able to find the bust online...it was 2004 -2005 or so....too bad too, he's a real good guy, just lookin to cover his farm tax and put food on his plate...f-in shame
