Okay the space we are building is 13 feet long 5 feet wide and 9 feet tall. We have planned out the building of the room and are nearing completion on that part of the project. We really haven't put a lot of thought into where we will go from here. I obviously will want a veg area and a flower area and would like to utilize what I already have though I am open to purchase additional items nothing too spendy or extravagant at this time though.

Here is the list of what I have

1000 watt HPS
400 watt HPS
8 bulb T5 with veg bulbs
ducting
2 circulation fans 1 inline fan

Items I intend to purchase before the room goes up:

Carbon Filter
6' light rail

Here are the pics of our constrction so far let me know any advice ideas wahtever you got....

I was thinking a wall and door seperating the two rooms but then I also thought that opening a door requires empty floor space which I'm not planning on having a ton of.

Maybe an accordian style closet door. I don't know anyone have any suggestions or thoughts on how best to approach the splitting of the rooms?

I would get a bunch of power strips and timers. Some power is on all the time for the air flow and others will be on your veg time and others for the flower time. If your going to spend some good money on the space, maybe think about a system for the water... I dunno, just a thought

i would put a wall at a 1/3 mark of the room splitting with 1/3 of the room for veg and 2/3 of the room for flowering. make the door between them off to one side with a narrow walkway on one side through the flowering room. and i see nothing wrong with the green man's door made out of black construction plastic and velcro strips holding it in place.

i woulddefinatly try to get a hose bib in that grow space. packing water sucks and since you seem to be in the trades. or atleast pretty handy at construction it oughta be a snap for you to tap a water line

pocket door is a go for sure I just looked at the DIY for that and the cost associated and that looks like the best route.

Yes to power strips and timers I already have a pretty decent collection may need a few more extension cords.

I will have to think about water, I don't know much about plumbing but that is a concern I didn't even consider until now. My current room is easy to water but this one won't be. I have my outdoor plumbing nearby but it is off for the winter I live in the mountains.

I"m in the process of doing the same thing as you bro. My space is gonna be 12 long X 8 wide X 8 high....I am closing in one side of my garage. I plan on custom building the tables to fit along the two 8 foot walls and one 12 foot wall and they are gonna be 3 feet wide. And they will be totally hydro

Don't forget insulation on the external walls within the grow area at least. This will help immeasurably with controlling temps throughout the year, and assist in deadening the sound as well. Good luck!

Yeah i need the sound proofing ability of insulaion. Any recommended brands or is the standard stuff pretty solid in keeping sound and temps good?

could u grow with a regular shop light?

You could try but you won't be happy with the results. Please save these kinds of questions for a different thread. This is a couple thousand dollar grow room not a tutorial on how to grow weed with 30 bucks.

are you putting in a an a/c, winter should be fine without it but I was thinking summer might get a little hot in there. I got a 300$portable a/c for my grow, but i live in florida. Another thing i do is build shelves for everything fans, ballasts, my a/c, so everything is up off the ground and out of the way

I think I will probably have to get an AC unit in summer time I was just thinking about that. I have nowhere to pull cool air from in the summer time.

I'd love to see more pics of your room if you want to post them so I can see everything you are doing. I'm sure I could search for it but I'm lazy high today

Stunned, I am thinking about doing the same thing in my basement. Are you considering running anymore power outlets into your new room. My biggest fear is overloading a breaker and causing a fire. Does anyone know how many watts a normal breaker can handle. (PS i know nothing about electricity)
