build or buy

I’d say, unless you’re really really good with a sewing machine, you should buy one. The advantage to building would be you get it with exactly what you want, where you want it. Not sure about whether it would be more costly to build or buy. Probably cost more to build. Size is up to you and how much room you have, and how much you want to grow.

i was thinking if built, i could build to what is needed, and expand if needed with seperate rooms for diffent stages either that or just add tent kits when required i suppose i am a chippy so thats why i thought of building myself.
do you recommend a tent/kit ?

G'day all, i am wondering on what all your thoughts would be on building or buying grow tents first timer here. and if i build what do you think would be the best size to build ?
TIA
If you are gonna build you should build because you have fun and it relaxes you, if you not you should spend money and buy stuff that someone else enjoyed building. Thats the advice I'd give myself

I haven’t done much research on kits, but what I’ve seen is that most are decent, but sometimes the lights are a bit marginal, however some will allow you to upgrade lights. Never added up
the cost of kits vs buying separately. My tent is an Apollo, 6.5x6.5x7, it’s 6 years old no issues, but I’m not sure if they’re still in business, and they haven’t made my size tent in several years.

That's a good size tent ! I don't think do you have seperate compartments for different stage or do you make enough bud to last a full regrow

That's a decent size tent I don't think I'd be able to have that size, do you have seperate compartments for your different stages

If you're good with tools and 2×4's you can put together something pretty nice . The greatest advantage IMO would be floor to ceiling height and a greater ability insulate if needed .

No, just one big tent no compartments, but yes, I use it from seedling to harvest and have no problems getting 20-30 oz per grow. I can get two grows in every 18 months. Can’t grow indoors during July-Sept. just can’t keep it cool, but I can grow outside in the summer.

Probably, more customisable don't you think ?
The only thing I'm not sure of if silver or white for the reflection on all surfaces
Maylar is a few procent more reflective than white
There ia a few sizes that are optimal for a specific number of plants.no idea how much you wanted
