Bugs - Arachnids - Mites - Infestation

Hey everyone,

I was so repulsed when I saw what happened to this girl, you can check the pictures below...



I cleaned them up, but still got these arachnids walking all over the place..



The cinnamon on the soil is for driving the ants away, but these other guys dont give a crap and run up and down the tree.

I sprayed a 90% water 10% alcohol solution, any tips on what these are and how to eliminate them?
Both the balls on the first pictures and these insects.

Get some organic neem oil from like vitamin shoppe. That's where I got mine. There are recipes online I forget what mine was as I used a 16.9 fl oz spray bottle. I think I used a literal drop of neem oil and a drop of soap as you need an emulsifier, which is what bonds the water and neem oil since the oil will sit on the water other wise. Spray the bitch down before the lights go off. You will get leaf burn possibly otherwise. It doesn't kill bugs, but it fucks with the hormones and they'll disappear soon. Respray in 7 days for full effect.

Wow ... looks like scales. You could dip some qtips using straight ISO and target groups directly. Then rinse off corpses after.

Or higher percentage of iso / water spray. Yours was way too diluted. I would start with a 50/50 mix then bump as needed ( add couple of drops of dawn ) to help stick .

No soap needed. Just the 50/50 will do. And if not use 100 n spray kill n rinse. Pluck em of if u have to. And the arachnids will die from the spray for sure. Then go get some tangle root n put it round the bottom of your pots ant the top outer rim.

Soap is a last ditch resort imo it is very easy to fuck up and can really hurt her. So try not to use it. Otherwise the neem oil is good as well. But alcohol kills and it does it fast. If you rinse well and don’t leave em soaking in it you will be good.

I got an organic pesticide, contents are: Neem Oil, Stevia, Apple Glucose and Citronella.
I sprayed the ladies (not only the affected) and I'm keeping an eye out for any signs of infestation, so far it worked wonders, cheers!
PS: I'll post the link to the thread when it comes harvesting time.

That's scale. I have had it on my lemon trees.

Pluck all of them off manually, then spray with neem. Neem on it's own will not kill the mature scale on your plant, you have to physically remove it.

Ants will typically be nearby, harvesting the young scale for the sugar sap they release.

True that, I once had scales on this tree in my front yard. The whole tree, leaf to the base of the trunk, was covered in moths. Was kinda cool to see IMO.

Can you update us as to the result of what you ended up doing? All info adds to the overall understanding.

I removed the scales manually as soon as I saw them (4th picture) and sprayed the organic insecticide to avoid other insects.
Had to use some tools to reach the scales that were deeper into the plant, but they didn't cover the whole trunk.
She's looking healthy right now, will post some pictures soon.
