the one without wings did have wings, was holding it by the wings and it pulled itself free by ripping its own wings off lol

That is exactly what I was thinking, like baby carpenter ant maybe. We did have some carpenter ants around last summer (pole barn).

Yep. I see them swam out rotten tree stumps. Bottom of old wood posts. They will be everywhere. I don't think they hurt anything but I could wrong.
