Buds

What week do the buds start to STINK, and start to get a lot bigger? I'm on week 5 of the flowering stage and it doesnt smell at all yet, theres buds on the 6 plants that I have but there not big, I have been using the fox farm nutrients, and the Fox farm soil. just curious as to when they will get noticeably bigger since its usually an 8 - 10 week flowering stage and i still dont see a huge difference, nor do they smell.

Alright good as long as it actually starts to get bigger becuase theres tiny buds all over the place, but they are just at a stand still right now....there not really moving or changing much, they just are furry little balls all over the place. So at week 5 I was starting to get nervous.

Im just going into week 6 and my buds are starting to develope quite nice. Like you I had furry buds up till now. Now Im seeing more of a defined shape. Also had a light smell all through my grow. Now Im starting to get a more pungent ordor. Also if I brush a bud by mistake and disutrbe the trics I get a really dank smell. Also you can add 1tsp molasas to your feed mix. I hear it helps bud development. Im doing it but didnt leave a plant without. So without a control plant I cant tell if its helping or not.

Your grow is looking good. Some start to stink earlier than others. My purple kush started stinking before it even budded, while my northern light is in week 7 and I haven't had to attach my carbon filter yet because the odor isn't that intense to make be stop puffin and actually do some work... =]. Don't worry though because once you have in a bag/jar sniffing every 10 secs the dank odor will be there!

My other question is I know you have to stop watering your plants when they start to look almost done to dehydrate them, or to flush out the nutrients rather.....how does that process work and when does it take place? like I heard 2 ways....one person said the last week of flowering stop giving them nutrients and just give them straight water like 3 times a day to flush out the nutrients, but then I also heard just to give them a little bit of water 1 time a day and that's it so they dehydrate.

Last week or two, your choice stop giving them nutes, give them distilled water. about 2-3 times your container size. You dont want to over water it though after you flush it let the pot dry out like you normally let it do for a day or two maybe more idk. then flush 2-3 times water again.

wait so I just stop giving them the Nutes like on Monday of the last week....and just give them water.......and when I flush them thats basically me just over watering them for a day or 2 so that it floods the roots without killing them so that they nutrients that are in the roots and the soil flood out?

You dont really flush them. Just stop nutes 2 weeks before and just give water like normal. You dont want them to wilt. This will help cut down on the chemical taste later.

The key here is patience!!! Im a new grower and I've figured that out already!! Guys just cant wait for the plant to do this, or do that. Let nature take its course. Watching it every hour(like I used to) your not gonna see much change. :) The plant is gonna do what it wants to do when its ready(besides 12/12 to start flowering). First get to know the characteristic's of the strain then once you understand some of those, then you can start to manipulate the plant into doing things. But 1st "KNOW YOUR PLANT"!! Not all methods work the same for all strains. :)

not really shure why you would wana dehydrate the plant seems like it would do more bad then anything......id suggest useing some unsulpherd molasses really beefs em up and packs the crystals on.

103_4362.jpg103_4364.jpgthese are mine at week 4 there on week 6 now started out with 1tbs of molasses per gallon im now useing 2tbs per gallon, wish i could post some more recent pics but my cameras dead they still havent got a really strong smell unless i touch then it smells like straight pinesol or somthing haha.oh and there my first plants and there outdoors.

Not dehydrate them to the point where they die lol, i mean like dehydrate them so that you can get some of that water out before drying it. because when you get to the drying stage there's so much water still in the roots and soil that are also in the buds that dehydrating them a little before the drying stage gets rid of some of that water inside of the buds.

I guess you could. But your talking like a week+ with no water. I want them making big sticky buds till the minute I pull them out of the ground. I will give them everything they need till then. I'll worry about the drying time later.
