Buds that don't like light

Hi guys, have you ever experienced situation when upper buds looked far less frosty and smelly than bottom ones?
Its been my problem for some time. Last time i accidentally had one of the main branches curled down under another branch it was in the shadow and yikes!, it looked super frosty and stinky like day and night difference compared to buds closer to light, its like they do not like my lights.
Anyhow, i have around 600 Watts lights in 5X5 tent, (5 X Vero C cobs), they are around 16 in (40 cm) from plants, temps don't get above 26 C, mostly its lower.
Any thoughts?

Okay. I tough its okay as long as i don't get bleaching. I think in investing in some lux meter to get closer to ideal intensity? And if things don't get better i will eventually replace the lights with some smd light.

Thanks for answers

Well initially I thought heat until I read 600w cobs, but 5 cobs is intense at that power.
I would raise them 6" .

I used to run 720w of cobs in a 4x4 area but I had 9 cobs so the light intensity and heat was spread out more evenly.

Do you run with reflectors or just bare?

If I had a 5x5 I would add another 4 cobs and get both better light distribution, better efficiency and allow you to be closer.

Yes they run hard, they are about 165 lm/W at 120 W, once they burned my hair badly when i leaned under. They are bare. I am gonna try that, i guess it really cant be other than a distance, i thought intense light should get more crystals and stuff not opposite, but i guess too much is too much.

Even us ol school HID heads are starting to learn that too much light is very easy to get to with leds.

I got a couple branches that stretched a bit too much and ended up a lil close to my DE lights. The very top buds are smaller than the buds down the branch a little further. Last run I had some just as close no issues. I've run this particular cut a lot and have noticed that they are a little sensitive to too much light. I would dim but I feel I that those few buds being smaller is outweighed by getting large buds further into the canopy.
