Buds never have strong terpene smells.

Remember if you grow from seed some plants I find just don’t retain smell or some just have no real smell. Usualy one plant out of every harvest as I always do malti strains, I have chopped plants and dried them all the same way but always feel there is one plant that just ends up smelling of nothing, I think it’s down to genetics sometimes, I have quick dried plants that stink and they smell better than some plants I have dried for 7+days. The Nicole plant I recently chopped had no smell when growing but looked nice, and now it’s dry it has like no smell, if I break a bud I get a slight slight tingle of berry terp but I think the plant was just never gonnna be good no mater what I done at harvest. If you get a stinky stinky and you want that every time clone it and grow from clone. Only way.

I n used to have this problem. Grew killed weed then lost its smell and taste appeal. It’s deff got to do with your curing I let mine cure in a 64 % rh at 71 degrees just happenes to be my basement closet hang it with a small fan pointed at the floor under the hanging bud just mixes air around inside. Leave it for more then 4 days like 7 checking every few days in dark. Then cure it in jars burping first day second day every 6 hours twice a day for the Rest week and weekly let it cure in a dark place around same conditions you dried it in. You’ll get the most out of what ever you’ve grown it’s more then likely chlorophyll killing the terps and then your jumping the curing I still have week curing that I harvested last Halloween. I find the right conduction a and procedure make a hella difference also tho

What I’ve found is that you really can’t take too long to dry. That doesn’t mean leaving it out for 1 week or more no matter what, but rather taking a week or more for the bud to be dry enough to jar/smoke.

I struggle with slowing down the drying process. When I get it right and the bud doesn’t dry too fast though that’s when I am able to retain the most smell and attain optimal bag appeal. If I’m not careful the bud will dry out too quickly (couple days) and when that happens the stored bud lacks not only the smell but a lot of taste and flavor too when smoked. Over dried bud still has all of the potency but the lack of smell and taste will definitely be a disappointment.

Picking too early and drying too fast are the main reasons. Most strains go 10-11 weeks from flip

Raise your humidity, stretch out your dry longer, jar with humidistats so u can see what’s going on in the jar. Burp often early.

I just recently saw on here a thread about drying in paper bags. I’ll look it up and try to link it but I started doing that after trying it and it does tend to stop that hay smell for sure. It worked so well for me that that’s how I’m doing it from now on. Just a thought not here to say anything is better or worse I just know it for sure worked for me.

Yes enough to know that slowing a dry gives you mold just like jarring too early. You were the one complaining of mold in all your bud. Didnt realize you were now and expert and so offended by bagvedas. Rather than enter some kind of argument with you and post pictures ill just go elsewhere...

I've never dried in bags and nobody I know uses bags. It's not necessary if you do it right.

Obviously a lot of people can’t do it right. I personally could not keep that smell when hang drying for whatever reason. I know that when I tossed them in brown paper bags they kept the smell. That is all. It’s nothing to throw a few buds in a bag and try it for yourself. Not necessary and doesn’t work are different things. Just trying to help like someone helped me.

I am always psyched when I find a bud that's been under some furniture for a month. It's always bomb ass weed from drying au natural.

Before i moved from my last house, i found a 5g nug of blue cheese in an old tub(was atleast 15months old,from a old friends grow)it broke 4 teeth in my grinder & was one of my best tasting joints ive had in 10 years

I find for best taste I cut the plant with Leaves on i hang them upside down in a dark room for 7-8 days. After that jar burp jar burp for at least a week. Less burping as days go on. I have the stinkiest flavorful buds. Patience is the key to flavor. most cut to soon and rush the cure/dry. “PATIENCE”
it usually tastes even better 4-5 weeks in jar.

Based on recent pictures of your weed that you are posting I would say grow a healthy happy plant from start to finish with green leaves at the end and only a slight fade to the colour and your smell problems will be remedied.

by creating a deficient plant too early harms flavours and smells when drying and curing.

also it shouldn’t be jarred in 5 days.

you want to wait until the outside of your buds feel real crispy but with some flex when you squash it in your fingers.

don’t wait for bud stems to snap as there’s almost 40% moisture there at this point and we aim for around 60-65% moisture.

Try and dry at 45-55% And 18C/65F for around 9-10 days and then jar.

Some of the stinkiest crops I have grown had a lot of brown and crispy fan leaves but the bud leaves / sugar leaves were still looking sexy with those fall purps.

Growing healthy plants

Harvesting once the plants are fully ripe

Drying them SLOWLY
