Buds into Hash?

Here's what I don't understand: All the research I've done tells me that the way to get hash from trimmings is to dry them out and then strain out the trichomes using ice cold water -- the bubble bag method. But I have what is pretty much bud material, rather than the typical leaf trimmings, and I want to make that into hash (I had to harvest early because a hermie infected my whole crop). So. I have dried the plant material so that it it bone dry, and I notice that the trichomes fall off pretty well just by squeezing the trim. It doesn't seem to me that immersing them in cold water will make them much more brittle than they already are. And, it also seems to me that even if the cold water method recovers a lot of trichomes, what about the THC/CBG/etc. that's still in the bud material? The non-trichome cannabinoids. Are they lost with the bubble bag method, and if so, is there a better method to use when you have material that is predominantly bud?
Thanx again, bob

All of the cannabinoids are in the trichome. Are you talking about sifting versus water and bag extraction? Dry sifting works it just takes longer as you have to be more delicate.

To do it correctly though you need to get a screen. Even a screen of 150microns will give you a pretty green pile of kief. Think around 120 or lower is where most people start for the final screen

Really? All of the cannabinoids are in the trichomes and there is none in the bud material itself? I did not know that.

OK, I've read up on it. I have too much material to go the BTO route. BTW, since the bubble hash method uses water, is it necessary to dry the trim before doing it?

Here's an easy way Too do iso that I kinda like, hope this helps someone.

Pic one is the stuff.
pic two is laying the piece of 120 silkscreen in the bowl, make sure no plant material slops through into the bowl .
pic three is the plant material dried out and broken down somewhat, just crumbled by hand is all.Not trying to make it into powder as that will get through the screen.
pic four is how much material goes into the jar.
pic five is how much iso I put in the jar.
pic six is the jar dumped into the bowl after shaking vigorously for 45 seconds,I use a watch.
I kinda swoosh the screen around in the iso with the material submerged for a couple secs to let the trichs settle through the screen a bit. Then wad it all up and squeeze the iso out into the bowl, squeeze it like you fucking hate it.I also use the same iso to rinse multiple jars in a run, thicker is better to a certain extent.
pic seven is the bowl going under a fan for a day or so to evap off, never, ever use heat.
See ya in a day or so too scrape out the bowl and have a looksee..........laters.

I used two quarts of iso to process 492 grams of material and a 160 screen on this batch.

Well if done right and ya got good screens the end result should be all trichomes with very little plant material or leached chloraphyl.
The effects are very very good,I recomend it highly
