i curently have some bud curing and ive dried it in front of a fan for about four days and the stems were still bendable i put it in a plastic bag sealed it then put that in another plastic bag and sealed it, let it sit over night now my bud jus smells like greenery like cut grass, it doesnt have a weed smell. Did i leave it in the bag too long?

Ok two reasons:
-The fan dried it out too fast, the chlorophyll and complex carbs didn't have a chance to break down, you have to remember that even tho you chop it down, it's still alive.

-Most weed doesn't smell like weed until its dried and about 2 weeks into the cure.

It's probably gonna taste like crap and sparkle and pop when smoked aswell to be honest, like most people claim unflushed plants do. It's got nothing to do with flushing, it's got to do with an improper and too quick dry.

Hope this helps dude, itll still get you super high tho.

you left it infront of a fan for 4 days that was the issue here... please dont ever do that again ;) you also probably blew off a ton of trichs as well and lost alot of potency to the bud :(

there is a plethora of curing methods out there but usually the hang for few days in an atmosphere of 50 or less % of relative humidity, then jar curing burping till rh in jar is around 50% as well etc method works most consistently... just do a search for it here on the forum and you wont be disappointed with a lack of info on the subject and you can fig out how to get a better feel for it in the future :)

the fan was no bigger that 10 i9n in diameter and the buds were at least a good foot or two away from the fan like i said the stem s still bent w/o snapping and the outside felt dry

i know it may not make sense to you yet but i personally nor i would imagine the average person would ever leave bud to dry with a fan blowing on it constantly like that... your drying room needs good ventilation but not a fan blowing on the bud constantly like that...

what was the genotype/strain of your plant in the first place ??? some strains dont smell real skunky till midway through the curing process

Dude I think you will be ok. Go get some mason jars and put the bud in til about 80% full. Don't cram it in. Leave it in there for a day. The next day, open the jar and dump the bud out and examine it. If it feels "wet", put the bud in a paper bag for a day. Next day, put it back in the jars. Keep repeating until the bud is how you want it. Then leave it in the jars taking the lid off once or twice a day so the gases can escape for 10-15 mins.

1. At harvest, I typically cut and hang with a fan blowing lightly AROUND the bud for 4-5 days.
2. Jar for a day.
3. Paper bag for a day.
4. Jar for a day.
5. Paper bag for a day.
6. If it is done, it stays in jars burping every day for a few more days.
7. Jar em up and smoke it.
8. If you can wait another two weeks or so in the jars, it should be right there.

Days and times vary of course.

Avoid plastic bags. The trics will stick to it.

One more thing. Make sure the bud is dry when you get to #7-8. Mold sucks.

I tend to over dry a bit on purpose. Again mold sucks. Plus sticky bud doesn't burn well in my Iolite.

Harvesting the easy way in summary.

Chop, hang until stems snap but don't break then jar up and burp for 15 mins a day for two weeks...sorted ;)

Acquire a Calibre slim RH/therm...slip it in ya jar...don't permanently seal until at 60% or less...you'll be surprised at just how much moisture is captured inside the buds as they dry....nothing....I mean nothing !!! beats a slow dry...properly done.....paper sacks, mason jars, dry and cure info is a MUST....BTW....I only vape so I carry my bud to 55-56%RH...seal...and pregrind my weeks usage so it dries more...
