Buds full of dust from desert windstorm

I'm in San Diego, and since the humidity today is 10 percent, I sprayed my plants this morning. I gave them a good soaking with a fine spray.

They are not quite ready for harvest yet though, so I am just taking advantage of the low humidity.

What I haven't harvested will be hash now. Completely dried my buds on the plant! 48 hour with 40 mph sustained and gust to 80 will do that. Im working on wind breaks for next year..

I spray them with a tap-water hose, and nozzle set to fine spray. That cleans them better than a good rain (which we seldom have here.)

You are correct that resin is not water soluble, so there is no loss of potency, just cleaner bud.

I sprayed them and they hanged to the floor because of weight, I'll do a better rinde once I cut them tomorrow because of this "problem"

Exactly, which is why I wash soon after harvest.

Yes. Do like Eddy said, or wash after harvest. I use a weak H2O2 solution then rinse in plain water. Shake out excess water, then hang with fan blowing nearby.
I do the same. I have also used the baking soda and lemon juice bath, which seems to create a nice bit of bubble action in the water. I have washed two harvests now and I find the smoke much more enjoyable.

I also hang to dry with a fan blowing. It doesn't take long and within a few hours, three or four, they are ready for drying. I bought some of these for easy hanging in front of a big fan.

I did it guys, cut them and washed them with water and h2O2, the water was so dark I had so change it twice , left them a few hours hanging on the sun with 2 fans , then I took them inside , trimmed them ( i found a few worms that survived the wash) and hanged them on a dark room , they smell like grass but I guess this is normal

No controversy, your outdoors full sun, rinse them off, done! 2 hours later dry
desert here too so it's dry but if you wanna cleanem well use RO water and those 5dollar walmart water sprayer pumps. i have mixed it with a few drops of organic soap. you can use a leaf blower on low if you certain you wont pickup more dust to dry it or even blow some debri off in the first place but be very careful not to blow dirt on it or too high setting of course...

I carefully shake the plant really well and that works to make it dry much quicker unless you have a big ass plant

Use it as soon as they start budding in the future. Once a week should provide control. Every 3-5 days if they get bad. Also hanging a bug zapper helps a lot if you can.
Yeah the Bug zapper will be a must for my next grow, if i had the money i would've got one , by the way here is a pic of everything canned,
never had so much weed in my life, the total weight was actually 420 grams haha

Imo that grass smell is from harvesting to early it could be a strain thing but the only times I can remember a smell like that is when I harvested to early. Some people say you need to cure it for the smell to go away I call bs on that I've had lots of flower that always smelled good those were also my best grows that I for sure completely finished

Imo that grass smell is from harvesting to early...
I've seen this mentioned a lot, harvesting too early brings on the grass smell. I've also read that most harvests smell this way, like grass, because of chlorophyll, and this is why we dry and cure buds after harvest, to break down the chlorophyll. If we still smell the cut grass it is still drying and curing. Some say this is how marijuana got the nickname "grass" in the first place.

This second idea makes sense to me and I've noticed it on my own grows. So @Aacis after a week how do they smell?

Some strains are just kind of leafy. I try to avoid those. Trimming them are a PITA.
Nothing wrong with that smell in general it doesn't mean anything bad.

I use a pump up sprayer equipped with a garden hose attachment to keep my plants clean and fresh...plain water.

The smell is totally gone as soon as i putted everything in flasks, now the smell is like fruity with a bit of lemon, not a single trace of grass or hay.
im guessing that grass smell is the chlorophyll breaking down.
