Bud's dried perfectly like cured, still need to burp?

Alright so i have all my buds drying down in my basement, the temps vary from 60-67 with humidity from 40%-50%. I let my La confidential x skunk dry for 7 days, the nugs are rock hard and sticky before even throwing in the jars, smoked a bowl to test the high and the bowl burned absolutely perfect, great taste, burn, etc.

I went to burp the jar a good 10-12 hour's after putting the buds in and they didnt seem to build up any more moisture like they normally do. So i guess my question is, did i let them dry to long? Or did i let them dry out to the perfect amount? I dried them to the point where my stem's cracked alittle but did not break..

if it tastes good to you. then no need to burp. if just dried them and are satisfied with the outcome, then thats all you need =D hope that helps lol

Word thanks haha. I still plan to seal them in jar's for 2-3 week's to finish out the process... I just smoked a bowl and noticed that the smell/taste has improved through the jar over just the past couple days so a few week's should be perfect!

hey Phelps this is what i noticed.. i overdried my bud and when i jarred it up, i left it for 2 days before the first burp, that gave plenty of time for the mositure to get back evenly.. if the buds r still dry after 12 hrs or so i would just wait longer in between burps, like once evry 24-36 hrs, onvi this can vary but just be sure to check on them periodically to make sure no mold has formed..

Depending on bud size and density there might still be some uneven moisture content deep in the buds. Your humidity range was good, 45% to 55% is optimal. Your temperatures, on the low end, were a tad bit low but on the high end were within optimal range. Lower temperatures, even in a proper humidity range, will make drying longer so there might be a slight bit of extra moisture, at least in the larger most dense buds. Just watch closely for any moisture buildup and if there are any signs, burp and continue to burp as normal.

Even though going by dryness the buds might seem ready to smoke I would still allow the buds a proper amount of curing time, even if the last slow drying portion of curing might not be needed. It will give the buds time for the percentage of non-psychoactive THC to turn fully psychoactive, so that alone is worth giving it time in jars.

Thats actually pretty much what i did, the first burp i did after 12-14 hours the bud's were still somewhat dry, but still hella dense, then i kept them in the jar for the past 36 hour's and the moisture has returned, but its pretty optimal so i am going to slow down burping to every 48 or so hours.

Alright cool, yeah it get's a little low from 4-8 or so in the morning but pretty much from that point on its from 63-67, i wish i could dry it in my room because it's around 65 constantly but if i did id go to work smelling like dank and that wouldnt be a good thing. The la conf x skunk was a pretty small plant, yielded just under a half Oz so the nugs were pretty uniform so the moisture was actually pretty even but ill def keep that in mind for my motivation that im about to jar up.

Yeah im def going to let them sit in the jar for a few week's just so the full process can take effect... Thanks for the input bricktop, its always appreciated!

I'm so happy we cured ours. I was a bit worried about mold, but we haven't had any problems. This is the SMOOTHEST smoke I or lots of our friends have ever burned! Goes down like buttah!
