hello mate,

I like your setup but i saw the title to this thread and thought - ok, cool another BUDGET GROWER like me but then saw how much you spent $1200?, so lets see how we compare cost wise, i have spent less than 500 bucks (that includes all equipment, seeds, nutes & soil) and i have a grow room for flowering with 600w HPS dual spec that could be used for vegging if req'd as it has some blue spec in it, DIY carbon filter with 2 x ex. fans attached 1 is 107m3/hr the other is 72m3/hr, oscillating. fan, a fan heater and another fan for blowing on bulb, also have a 72m3/hr intake fan and a max/min thermometer/hygrometer. A veg cabinet with 3 x light sockets (currently using 2 x 20w cool white cfl's and 1 x 23w warm white cfl) and 2 x 60cfm PC fans - 1 for intake and 1 for outake and carbon filter pads over the intake light trap and the outake light trap. I want a constant harvest every 2 weeks so i will take clones every time one of my veg plants goes into the flowering room.

Mate budget growing on $1200 may be applicable when you compare it to some of the space age growrooms that i have seen on here but if you do alot of D.I.Y for certain bits like carbon filters and building your own cabinet and extraction setup you can save a fortune - luckily i have access to parts from work that cost me nothing but its amazing what yo can find out on here to save money.

Not trying to sound like a jerk all just thought your idea of budget differed from mine matey

since i wrote the post i looked through your journal. Was that tent / cooled reflector and fan expensive? I know your ballast probably was.

And reggardless of cost your plants look sweet mate - good work.

sorry for sounding so anti - just i saw the word BUDGET and it must've hit a nerve! Been drinking and smoking way too much tonight bro!! seriously how much did you pay for stuff tho???

np dude, my first 2 set-up where budget grows this setup is a all out in comparison, the name of the journal is just my forum name. Sorry for the confusion. to me i'm still on a budget, just much bigger from the profits gained through my first 3 grows.

Sweet - i get you, not unlike the problem im having getting folks interested in my journal thread - its called 'Big Bang first grow' but since i had problems with my first pack of seeds (only 1 success out of 5 fem seeds) i ordered some White Widow so if people see the thread title they just assume it Big Bang only and i dont get the input i could do with from the WW growers!!!
incidentally, i received a replacement pack of fem Big Bang from GHS (along with a load of merchandise by way of apology) so my journal is like half BB and half WW.

has the 4inch vortex fan been taking care of heat? how do u run the fan? are you using any type of co2? sorry for all the questions ;)

yes the vortex is perfect for the setup i mounted the fan with bungie cords in the upper corner of the tent with a Carbon scrubber attached to the outake port.

No CO2 this time around, maybe in the future.

I keep the fan on 24/7 it pulls the air through the reflector intake so far it has kept the tent in perfect ranges between 70*F-89*F
