Here we are at day 34 for the 5th element and day 19 for chocoloco.have been feeding the 5th element full strength nutes and plan on starting a half dose on the Chocoloco.going to give them another week or 2 maybe 3 to start flowering just don't want them to be too small and get nothing from them and don't want to let them get too big during flowering
Didn't plan on it only because the cabinet is on the small size.i do have some 10" pots but I've used these 6" before and grew 4' tall plants in them so I figured I'd just
use them
Decided to and scrog the 5th element so I laid it flat and it looks like it's doing good so well see how it turns out. Chocoloco is doing good just taking her sweet time growing though.so far so good.i figure I'll go another couple weeks and let the Choco get bigger then I'll switch to 12/12
Maybe raise up that screen 4-6 inches so they veg enough to fill the screen. Looking very healthy under the LED though.
I actually just removed my screen. I found that I liked LST better. Just tying down the 8 main shoots I have. I also added a hoop to the center of my plants to open them up for more light. The screen just wasn't working for me.
I don't plan on keeping the screen on.just kinda using it to get the 5th element to shape the way I want so I can LST it and open it up.right now most of the new growth is from the very bottom sets growing up so I bent the 3 tops over to even them out with the lower growth because I couldn't open it up without chopping the top off.im sure somehow I'll mess it up I'm really just trying to keep it from overtaking the chocoloco too much and hopefully I end up with tons of buds.
Things are looking good.5th element is getting bushy I pull the branches back under after they come up through the screen so I'm gonna give it a little longer with the screen the I think I'm going to remove the screen and tie the branches up.the chocoloco still has yellowing on the lower leaves well really one leaf but is doing good besides that.the 5th element is going to take over the space before long.im thinking maybe another week then switch to 12/12.i just wish the chocoloco would get a little bigger but it does have about 6 nice top bud sites from when I topped it.
I have decided to set my timer to 12/12 tonight when lights go out.the 5th element is growing fast as hell and taking over the cabinet so I'm gonna start flowering let's hope all goes well.
Flip 13/11 if you want to bring out more pheno expression. Most latitudes only hit the 11 hour light cycle. Hope that helps.
If size n the future get outta hand look into bonsai root pruning or Google "momzai ".
I'll have to give that a try.the size issue is mostly because the smaller plant was started late and the big one was already growing when it finally popped through.i just don't think this light has enough to let it get much bigger.i think I'm going to get another one and add it in the cabinet and have 2 of them and that should be enough to let the next ones get a little bigger.
So we are in day 2 of flowering and the 5th element continues to grow bigger and bushy while chocoloco is still small as hell.kinda pissed because I wanted a good harvest of it but we'll see how it goes we still have a while left
Today's inspection looked amazing.they both have a lot more pistils/preflowers popping up,they are starting to stretch out getting ready for all the big fat buds they are gonna grow (I hope) and they are starting asymmetrical growth for the flowering stage.now things should start getting exciting
I'm thinking for the next round I'm going to add another one of my lights to the cabinet and I'm also thinking of growing 1 plant at a time so I can grow it out to take up the whole space.i like having a couple different strains at harvest time but I think doing 1 at a time I can get the most from each plant and the most from the seeds I have.the 5th element could easily take up my space with a couple more weeks of scrog.but it all depends on the outcome of this harvest.
