Budding streached plants

I have a couple plants that are about ready to flower time wise (2.5 months). The problem is that they are streached and skinny. About 12 inches. If i were to try and flower like this, how would the buds turn out? Or will there be any?

You would probably need to support them with sticks or something, or the weight of the buds would knock them over.

I'm still vegging at 20/4. It's about the 7th node up right now.

So my 4.5 inch plant is sexed already?

Maybe you still have time for the stem & branches will strengthen before the flower weight arrives.

20/4 is a pretty poor light schedule in my opinion. 18/6 is an ideal schedule for vegging plants. And you won't see a sure sign of sex until you switch over to a 12/12 lighting schedule, unless your plant has begun to preflower. Get some fans to strengthen their stems. The buds may turn out fine but more than likely they will be a little bit wispy and the weight of the buds may crack your stems and branches if they are not strong enough.

And RAS, what does the 7th node have to do with anything? lol
I've had plants working on their tenth node at 6 inches and it wasn't showing sex. To sex you need to change the plant over to a flowering schedule. Unless you have an autoflowering plant.

i read sum where they start to show after the forth one but i got one right now thats about 2weeks old thats alread starting to bush out after the 4th one round 6in.'s aswell an i cant tell an one bout the same size as G-mans so i guess more of timing is the way to tell

(i base most my shhhh out of the horticuture med growers bible an off what ive read on hear or high times an a through bac h.t ens. from the 70's lol but most is true out of it)

i search preflowering and couldn't get a good idea of what i'm looking for. I don't have any white hairs or little sacks. The tallest plant is about 16in. Would I be okay to flower now? They are just growing thier first set of 5 leaves. It/s been just 3 till this point. Thanks.

I have 2 CFL 27W. But for the first month i just had a regular light bulb that made them strech. Now they are just starting to fill out a little. Should i flower or wait? Height is a little issue 3ft max.

you can flower actually anytime you want... but you want them the size ideal for you... for me.. i let them grow 2 feet then i started to flower... my indica strain plants showed sex after 5 inches tall, on 24 hour light. However, my sativa is barly showing sex NOW after 8 days of flowering.

It depends on your strain. and lighting.

Put it under 12/12 if you want them to get sexed. if you still want some more veg.. let it grow till its like 1 foot. because sativas can grow 3 times thier size in the flowering phase.. and indicas can grow up to 2 times thier size. so you can make a rough estimate.
