I never seen this happen under a hps, but now i get it about ever cycle to some degree under a led. Doesn't matter what strain i grow. Week 14 from flip this Monday coming up. Flood and drain buckets, day temp 78, night temp 68-69. PPM 220 (500 scale) water temp 69. Feeding maxibloom, si, a little calmag and floralicious plus. ppfd at the top of the buds is 770-800. Runtz muffin by barneys farm.

It’s foxtailing, (and it may be throwing “nanners”). Don’t judge ripeness by the foxtailing part, use the non foxtailing parts as your guide.

Yep, this had me stumped for a while too after moving to LED’s. You just need to start dialing your parameters down slowly toward the end of flower.. Light, temp, humidity, root zone temps and co2 if you use it. Don’t wait for the foxtails to finish or the rest of it will be overdone.

Definitely foxtailing. The lowers are probably giving you a sign. How are the lowers looking btw?

Edit: strains from Amsterdam were probably grown in different conditions than we’re able to provide. Their stuff may grow differently to USA bred strains.

Its a pistil heavy strain - top pistil growth is being stimulated by the intense lighting you have.

Many strains can be harvested with some pistils still growing. Usually the apex ( tips ) . Plants actually look hungry - cannibalized leaf. Counting weeks is kind of moot as plant will finish as long as it takes.

Why 200 ppm ? Thats pretty low.

I always start backing off on my ppm around week 6, and slowly bring it down. And being at 14 weeks we just got that low. I do read my ppm meter (Blue lab guardian) to see the swing of my ppm going up or down, and adjust accordingly. Thats all the plant really seems to want atm.

She looks hungry and light stressed. Gotta keep up the food or dim the light. I'd also lose the Si in flower and use your NPK to keep up the EC.

14 weeks is a long long time
It’s probably foxtail city from here on, thin and unproductive
Some strains do it late
I think she wants to be chopped
Inspect mid buds for hiding nanners

What was the reasoning behind dropping the Si in flower?
I had left myself under the impression that trichomes have plenty of Si in them and would end up rather brittle if no Si was present?

On the topic, most have already diagnosed it probably right.
Flowered my mother plant this season and let her flower for 11weeks and she had similar foxtailing going on some of the buds.
She was the only soil grow this season and the pot was bit too small for the amount I let her veg.
All of clones in few runs matured in 9weeks in DWC, and the strain flowertime was specced at around 9weeks.

So ye, probably some level of stressing with the levels of light and nutrients she is getting.

In most cases studied, Si accumulates far more in the hypocotyl, stems and branches then in flowers strengthening the structure. It's also helpful in the roots for salt stresses and helping cannabis under salt and metal stress (cannabis is a bioaccumulator). So once Si has done it's job and strengthened the plant stems, branches and you have a good supply in the root zone I don't need to add more during flowering as it's job is mostly done.

Further once stretch is over and they are no longer building a structure I would prefer to use that EC for NPK. I don't want a high EC setting up osmolar stress on my root system. Thanks for asking.
