Bud size question

Hello! First time grower here and i have a question I have two plants growing(three in total but two for the comparison), different strains, and their buds size are totally different. The one with the biggest buds wasn’t trained, only topped twice and was tall with less leaves. A48D8C60-7C0D-43C7-9EDB-92BF5AF49C49.jpeg
And the other was trained, lst, topped, was very bushy and I thought it will make the biggest buds. But they are so little and a bit airy..i got some problems with her this couple weeksE54923F3-C5CC-4841-92A7-664BB1BBB9BD.jpeg
My questions are: what did i do wrong with the other? What’s a normal quality bud like? Different strains different buds? I was so chill until they started flowering but seeing this huge difference between them it’s driving me insane as idk if i screw up the other plant or if it is normal or what am i doing:))

The og looks like og to me. I don't know what Barbara kush is.
Idk either i found the seeds in a cbd shop as “souvenirs”. They are from latitude sur seeds, searched them and saw they are legit(as I wouldn’t have ordered online, in my country is very illegal). But the difference between the buds is huge. That one in barbara is the size of a pine cone

That’s genetics for you.

It’s not your fault

Better? :)
Maybe because trying to heal her from god knows what i might have over-everything in an isteria. Now i will just let them do their thing. But reading all the stuff online before practicing makes you question everything. I posted this because after i read online some articles it seems like i put the lights too close/too far, i overfed/they are hungry and so on, just because they are smaller. But there isn’t a man like another, so this is it? But what are the mistakes that can result in smaller buds? Just in case

Are they both the exact same distance from the lights or by doing lst is the one much further away from the light? Light distance plays an important role in bud size. 6" further away means the difference between a cola and a secondary bud site sized bud so try to keep that in mind too. If one is too short you can raise it up on bricks, buckets or whatever you have to level them up

It's easy to blame genetics, but hard to face reality that it may be you lol. Sure genetics play a huge role, but so does light quality, environmental conditions, and nutrient feeds. Think of it this way, if you have a fruit tree that's unhealthy, the fruits will be there, but may not be super healthy either. Same goes for weed, you want big quality buds, keep your plants healthy.

I have already done that but i put them on books…but yes that big bud it’s almost near a pink light i ordered online and people here told me to ger rid of it but they seem to love it

AH AND i don’t really understand what “small bud” means? What’s a normal bud size? Because now i have everything from blueberry to pinecone size and inbetween:shock:
And that’s what some plants are like.

I’ve had some that produced buds around golf ball size.
I’ve had others that produced buds that were nearly an American football size.

Every plant is different that’s just the way it is unless you grow tried and tested clones.

I prefer Pine cone sized buds but lots of them over football sized ones anyway.

Bud size can be related though to environment.

A good rule of thumb.

HID lighting 50w per square foot
LED lighting 30w per square foot

temps above 65F/18C and lower than 88F/30C
Relative humidity above 50% for veg and below 50% for flower.

feed the minimum you need to as it’s easier to correct an underfed plant than an overfed plant.

I don’t blame anything, this is the reason i posted this-to find out what i did wrong lol

The thing is the little one is like a grape size and it’s close to finish this is why i’m wondering isn’t it maybe tooo small? And thank you very much for the info!

Hard to say properly with the 2 pics you posted.

On the smaller bud plant I see some yellow spotting and pretty dark leaves but without seeing the plant in true light etc it would Be hard to say what’s caused it. Etc.

I had another thread about it and seemed like a calcium def and i found biobizz calmag(here its very hard to find anything for gardening as people don’t seem to have this hobby) and started using 2 days ago. So olive size is too small right? Can this be from the ca def? I’m trying to find out the mistake to not repeat it..i will take some new photos when i get home
