Bud Size of 40oz bottle? Aint shit

I grew some cherry pie and it looks so damn good the bud size get as big as 40oz bottle and when it's dried it's so fluffy it barely have any bud mostly leaves and stems. What kinda shit is this? Anyone have this problem before? Before I harvest the bud is so fluffy and I was hoping when dried it at least give me like 20 percent but man was I wrong it's more like 5 percent that's useable.......

You gotta find a strain that produces denser buds,im smoking some that's heavier than it looks,really a oz looks like a half.

what lights are you using ?, i found that when using cfl the buds look great on the plant but when chopped and dried they shrivveled upto nothing , i used to think that was a bad strain but since changing to hps , buds are now very hard and loose alot less density when dried .

This is outdoor grow and the temp is really hot over 100s degrees so light is not an issue. I think it's the strain someone grew the same indoor and it turns out to be a hermie so I'm thinking that it's suppose to be hermie but instead it became all bud. This is killing me if it's not fluffy and useable I think I could of gotten at least 7lbs.

Maybe you need a big bud cross or a nice pure haze they yield big especially outside and even if the nugs where fluffy you'd still get a great yield.

To much heat. Indoors, that what be the culprit anyway. Never did outdoors so don't know if it would be the same. Had same prob with a trainwreck pheno, hated the high heat. Gave the most airy yield.

Gonna salvage as much as possible.

The heat simply expands the buds outwards beyond the compact bud. Thats what causes fluffy buds.

No it's not heat I have other strain and it's got dense bud. Wanna make hash or kief but not sure how to do it.

Different strains will react differently to heat. Go to the concentrates and extracts sub-forum. depending on your $ situation you will be able to find a tec for you. Alcohol extractions or screening are a couple cheap ways to yield a quality product. if you got cash and time order some bubble bags or a BHO kit.

Hey Dogg was it swiss cheese strain? I grew it outdoors also and got nothing but light fluffy buds.....not near what I should have gotten as I read. Let me know bud!

It's cherry pie but now I'm not so sure but my bud looks exactly like this one guy that grew cherry pie except his is more crystal. But I do know it's cherry something like cherry kush and plus I had a lot of bugs that damage my yield.

Next time Dogg maybe try growing several plants, even within the same strain can be a lot of variation.

Many growers will veg out 10 or so and pic the best to mother future grows.

re Hash. .... An investment would be some 'Bubblebags'. You'll then be able to make top quality hash from mid quality bud.

I would love to know how to make hash but I still haven't found an easy method. I need how to make bubblebags hash 101. If it's all dried out like crunchy dry will I still be able to make hash with it?

You can still make hash with the crunchy dry bud.

There are vid's on youtube showing use of the bubble bags.

You end up putting the leaves/buds in a bunch of ice water first and then you agitate the hell out of everything with a power drill with some kind of mixing drill bit on the end of it. Not sure about where they got the bit on the end of the drill however. That breaks everything up and flash freezes off the trich's I guess. That's the beginning of the process. You then sift through all the bags until you reach the last bag where you have a final product. Guys put that product in a press and you're done. I've never done it, just watched the vids and this is what I saw. I think the bags are $40 and it looked like fun.

My Cheap-Ass friend uses womens nylon stockings (Panty Hoe's) as a filter when making his hash. It works really good and it is a lot cheaper then the bubble bags.

Might be a stupid question but here it goes... Do you guys use leaves that have bugs to make hash? Oh yea my nephew saw his fried making hash with stocking.
