Bud rot

Is this considered bud rot? What establishes the rot? I thought it smelled weird at first but the smell seems ok

I’m pretty some of this is rot. Looks brown is it still ok to smoke?

I've never seen so many nanners on a bud. What does it look like when you break the bud up?

Seems decent. Yeah I’m not sure why it got those. None of the others got that

I wouldn’t smoke it if it is rot, hard to tell from the pic. Like @Laughing Grass said, take the bud out of your grow area and break it open. If it puffs white, there is whitish mold inside it, or it’s brown and rotting toss it.

Break it open bud.

You're gonna have to look inside near the central stem. With all those dead leaves I would definitely be suspicious.

I think sometimes the male flowers can make it more prone to mold. They form early in flower, die, and dry out while the buds are still growing. Then you have dead plant tissue encased in the moist, dark interior of a bud, which is basically the perfect recipe for mold...

I guess the upper bud got heat burn. Lower bud no manners and not brown

From the outside it looks OK, but as has been said, break it open, if it's "webby" inside then there's rot and you'll need to toss it. The third set of pictures, second pic, those are trichomes, they're fine.

I don’t see web. Some buds are brown looking but seem more burnt than rotten

Pretty sure the brown leaves and leaf tips are a deficiency/senescence or light burn issue not rot.

Dang, some nice buds right there, hopefully your losses are minimal if any. Looks like you let them get nice and ripe, so good job, but doing so always comes with an increased chance of mold....

In my experience mold is usually greyish and cloud-like, like it's harder for your eyes to focus on than the trichomes because the structures are smaller. If you scrape at a suspect spot with the tip of your scissors, it'll make a little puff of smoke come out of the bud if it's mold (best viewed against a dark background).

I can't see rot in those pics but they look like they might have been taken later than they should have been .

I don’t see anything in those pictures that make me think bud rot.

Break it open at its weakest spot. Flex it. If there’s bud rot that’s where it will open.
