Bud rot?

I've been running into this here and there at the top bud of a cola. Is this something I should cut out/off like I've done before? Thanks...

Yeah that’s definitely bud rot. I would chop well below where rot ends and then spray down surrounding area with h2o2 to kill any spores
Thanks! How much Hydrogen peroxide per gallon would you suggest? And how are below do ya think...hate to lose the cola but if it's done anyway...

I would chop enough off that you’re sure there is nothing left. Try to be as gentle as possible as your getting rid of it so your not spreading spores everywhere. And then for the mix I would go 1:4 mix. It will be strong and might burn your pistils but better safe than sorry

Thanks again for the help, I'll do that. It's been popping up here and there in my outdoor grow...and hopefully I can hold it to a minimum...but there are weeks to go

Budworms maybe?
Yeah, I did find 3 before beneath similiar looking buds, and then some I didn't but still they suddenly had this dark brown top bud. My buddy being an indoor grower had never seen it before, not that he couldn't get them. Just have to keep my eyes open for all this, no good leaving it there if it's gonna be worse later.

Two of the cases of Bud rot popped up the day after some overnight rain. So I didn't know what to make of that if anything, but after last night again I'm wondering.....

Caterpillars shit on the buds and the rain causes it to mold, which is why your seeing it the morning after it rains. I'd definitely do a thorough inspection and spray some BT.

Good luck!

Bud rot is not just caused by caterpillars, although they can and will contribute. Rain and humidity on heavy buds in the fall will fuck you everytime. It spreads fast and can overtake a plant in a matter of days. As mentioned about all you can do when it starts is to cut the bad spots out and soak the area in peroxide. I use straight 3 percent, I don't cut it with water. Once it starts though chances are you'll end up chopping sooner than expected.

Yea I go straight for the 3% as well and also chop out any infected buds. I find that if the mold has spread to a stem, you can slow down the infection by dabbing it with liquid copper. It's a stronger antifungal than h202, but you can't let any of it get on buds. You don't want to be smoking combusted copper.

Yeah the worms are a bunch of assholes. I'm battling some right now. Spray and inspect. Also, look for buds with just a single wilted/dead sugar leaf; there's almost always a little shithead worm in there. Good luck.

Yeah, not fun having to start mutilating my girls, but what to do. Enough grow outdoors in this Norcal area that makes me think they must get something out of it still.
