Bud envy...Who has the picture of the biggest buds?

I'm impressed by some of the large buds on this threads. So here's a couple questions for the large bud growers.

Is it better to have large colas or overall bud yeild with smaller buds?

Is there a difference in the quality when growing a large bud vs. an average size?

The reason I ask is in my veg. gardening, larger usually means lesser quality in taste and texture. Just curious if that applies here? Let me know.

depends on type of grow plus strain type

yes , theres less trics on larger buds as the inside of the large colas dont seem to produce anywhere near as much in the way of crystal , also there can be maturity issues as the colas grow and grow to become massive , the outer parts will be immature whilst the lower parts of the plant are much more along so a heavier stone

theres also mold issues as theres nothing worse than having a massive colas thats dying inside , its such a waste

cant find pics , got a strain called M39 , its canadian , the colas are from the elbow to the tip of the middle finger , you get maybe 10 on each plant and they are wider than a 2 liter pop bottle , never seen anything come close and no idea how it does it
that sounds great, who can you get seeds through?

That cracked me up.

Now we're starting to see some action.

Thanks for posting some great bud shots. Keep 'em coming.

Definately mention the strain if you can.
Sorry, trainwreck, all the big ones are on the bottom lol

Biggest I have pictures of (still going too, currently on day 43 of 12/12 - expecting her to go 70 days) - had a madshack that was similar, my memory says she was bigger, but she also suffered bud rot near the end. We shall see how this one looks by the end.

Will take pictures of her more sativa sister tomorrow and post them. Hers is bigger, well, taller at least - 18 inches, with a big fat base.

So, similar to growing large specimens in other plant varieties, large colas can suffer from being too big. May not be the case every time. I can see there being a higher risk for mold.

But hey, sometimes you want to grow for the glory of having a huge bud. I can see that being fun too! We've all seen the huge watermelons and pumpkins, why not gigantic buds?

M39 seeds , welllllll its google and hope for the best , i was gifted them from a kind fella in canada , its apparently a local strain grown on the islands and comes rather recommended , if you find a write up it will rattle your cage with the responses

as for krusty , the mans a friggin genius , a true god amounst growers , hes a caustic bastard at the best of times but you cant fault his methods , he grows 2+ pound plants every time in his recirculating bubblers grown under 10x1000 , his results are beyond anyones out there as hes growing multi plants rather than just 1 large 1 , another hero is heath robinson , his plants are just the other size of impressive , google ak47 48oz grow and it should pop up , thats 48 dry on 1 plant by the way

and if heath reads this do say hello ya northern monkey
