Bud colouring?

Are the colours on buds strain traits or temp. I have heard both, and I have these wikid purples coming out. One pic is a male, I pulled it weeks ago, but it was same strain I think.

My guess is both ...is temp (cooler nights) and the particular strain, see them glorious pistols! only way to know for sure is to grow this along side a strain you know don't fade to red!

My Temps have been cooler lately, but I've noticed it for a little while. I think they just look awesome. Hoping I have enough time outside for the bud to really develope and get all crazy purple.

Purple is common with low temps but I think the purple pistols are the strain. I'd try to keep it around

I was thinking about trying to get a clone or 2 off of this girl. She's budding but I think I can manage it.

Certain strains will get purple leaves even in high temps. Cannacopia's Bubba Kush X Deep Chunk is a favorite of mine and it always gets purple if you let it go long enough. Others will only turn purple in the cold.
