I personally would setup an ebb and flow in that space. You would use tubs.

They seem more managable in tight spaces and can use all the space most effectively if you find a good sized flood tray.

Or build your own with wood and pond liner from Lowes/home depot.

PS. I am going to test out using spray bedliner for trucks as a floor tray coating soon to see how it works. (just a thought)

------

Drip and drain system would be nice also for space saving, but if you are going through the trouble do the ebb n flow unless a really tight budget!

------
If you had to go dwc, I kind of like buckets because you can move them to fit your needs.

Just make sure you have a battery air pump for backup.. Lose power for an hour+ and you will be one sad grower.

--------------

I am currently working on a space 3w x 4.5l x 5h and am going to build an aeroponic system to fit this space. I figured I had time before my clones get here/turn to mothers/produce new clones/veg/ then are ready to flower sooo ill go all out.

I originally planned to do the ebb and flow/flood and drain but this seemed more complicated and I like to DIY design.

personally id say go with rubbermaid and get yourself a nice dwc in there. my current rez fits your width and depth almost perfectly bro so look around and see what u find

So if i go with the rubbermaid style i can fit two rubbers in my closet snugly... I see how the rubbermaid is made.. cut.. airator.. and pump... but does this rubbermaid need to go ontop of a water resevor.. like another rubbermaid? im watching some videos but they dont go into fine details about things

If you are doing DWC, all you need is the container...

Now, if you are smart, you will come up with a WATER CONTAINMENT PLAN, in case your rubbermaid cracks...

100 gallons on the floor is a tough mess explain...

You only need the reservoir under if you are doing ebb 'n flow...

DWC can be done on ANY container... I have kept several plants in 20oz soda pop bottles... with a tiny airstone in the water....

hope this helps...

I am moving from DWC to ebb 'n flow for ease of maintenance...

Right now I have 4 reservoirs to deal with.. and with their small size everything fluctuates hard and fast...

a single container will be much easier to handle... and the bigger size will help me stabilize the nutrient solution....

so bacically.. i only need one rubbermaid.. the airator puts air in the water..... and there is a pond pump that takes water from inside the rubbermaid and pumps it up to the top where the plants are... Or is there NO water pump.. and the roots collect the water from inside the rubbermaid?

Right...

the airator puts air in the water.....
Still right...

and there is a pond pump that takes water from inside the rubbermaid and pumps it up to the top where the plants are...
NOPE YOU GOT THIS ONE WRONG...

Or is there NO water pump.. and the roots collect the water from inside the rubbermaid?
Yup... you are back on track...

The roots will dangle in the water...

You may have to do some hand watering if the roots have not reached the water... but a lot of times the bubbles bursting on the surface will be enough to keep everything misted....

So then why do some people have a water resevor and pump water up to the plants?

I seen a setup of two Rubbermaid containers.. one on top of the other... maybe they was just raising the plants up to the light.. but i thought the bottom one was a resevor

That is called EBB AND FLOW or FLOOD AND DRAIN...

DWC is different...

i personally like my 5 gallon bucket setup, but im running low on space for roots. i have a feeling im gonna have to fill it twice a day in about 6 weeks or so. i also have 5 foot vertical room to play with. being that blueberry likes to be topped and grown wider than tall, you may not need to use all 7 ft. go check my ghetto LST method out on my master kush. its bushed out and its only about 45 days old and been flowering for 9 days. good luck and check out the more recent pics: bet you cant find the main cola, lol.
