Bubble gum ready or too early ?

Have 2 bubblegums in the 9th week of flowering, growing indoors in organic soil under LED lights. Started flushing them 9 days ago and planning to put them in darkness in 5 days or so, they’re looking good but I’m not sure if it’s too early because I’m not seeing any amber trichomes yet? Any advice appreciated.

they look ready, but you have to check the trichomes to be sure.
Won't hurt cutting a week earlier than supposed to.

Very nice buds, from which seedCo are these bubblegums?
How are the smells? Any artificial pink bubblegum popping out?


PS. Watch your RH and dont water them if you let them in dark long. You dont want budrot now. These buds looks dense
 
They look lovely, and you are probably about in the harvest window at this point. The stigma have turned and shrunk, and the bracts appear to be fairly swollen. If you aren't seeing any ambers yet, then personally I would be giving them another 7-14 days to let them finish ripening. I learned years ago that the best buds come from a healthy FULLY ripe plant. You are not going to let them grow to long or degrade the high. At this stage its all about having patience and waiting for the plant to actually be fully finished.

I've grown a few plants where I've regretted waiting for any amber trichs at all.... they got way too stony and foggy headed for my tastes. But I've grown a few Serious BG plants and I think it's a strain that might benefit from getting into the amber a ways. It has a pretty bright clean buzz to begin with... I think it could handle more time to build up a deeper more complex buzz. Not sure about the best time for flavor though. If you cut it now you'd have some really lovely daytime weed though. Just my two cents.

Thanks for replying, still checking trichomes no amber or red yet, not artificial pink I have managed to bring some purple out in the buds tho due to cold temps... I’m pretty sure I got the seeds from sensi seeds from a local online distributor :) good advice for bud rot I’ve been worried about that too thanks

Yeah I agree with leaving it a little longer for a heavier buzz but I don’t know if I want a happier tastier smoke or more of a knockout weed, just trying to get the amber/white balance right

Thank you for the advice I was thinking to leave them a bit longer as well just until I can see the Amber Trichomes
 
Here’s a better pic of trichomes think they’re looking pretty milky still maybe just starting to show some amber so will leave them 5 days more to complete the 2 weeks of flushing I’m giving them but after all your comments I’m very happy with these plants thank you

I don't think it's a strain that's really gonna get to a knockout couchlocky kind of buzz anyway..it's got a smooth kind of euphoria to it that would probably intensify with more ripening. You're gonna love it whenever you cut it. It's just plain NICE.

Whose BG are you running? My comments are about the Serious BG though... the most sativa leaning version apparently. You've done a mighty fine job with whoever's!

Looks mostly cloudy with no amber that I can see yet. I would take it but i like a energetic high. If you are looking for all amber I would wait a week or two and check them again.

Sensi seeds is the company I got the seeds from and yeah I’ve been putting a lot of time into these plants thanks for the input
 
Way too early. Mine took 15 weeks but any hybrid strain would need at least 13 weeks. People who grow indoors and harvest after 8-10 weeks are replicating the growing season of northern Europe. Why do you think outdoor weed sucks, other than maybe in southern California or Texas? Because they don't get 13 weeks of flowering, that's why. Why would you purposely choose a very short season when you can make it as long as you want indoors? You'll get no real weight either, or fully filled out buds. All that time invested up that that point and you can't wait another month to get twice the weight, more potency and fuller buds? Everything improves with each extra week or even day you give them up to 14-15 weeks. They'll look like they're dying by about 14 weeks but they're really not, I've gone 16 before but rot can set in.
 
The beautiful thing about growing is that you can harvest to your own preferences. I suggest you do some research on the stages of trichombe growth and the effects they produce at each stage and harvest to your own preference. I personally like to harvest when there's like 10% clear trichs 80% cloudy trichs and 10% amber trichs.

I thought it might be too early but I want to try the uplifting high effect so I’ve put one of my bg’s in darkness today and another I’m leaving for longer but good to know I’m not making a mistake with the second one

Personal choice of course. I don't know if unripe weed would be uplifting or not, the only difference I ever noticed was that it was harsher and weaker. I've found from experience that ripening times are vastly understated by seed companies and Internet tutorials. You could get high off it anywhere from about 7 weeks up, but you would get low yields and thin buds.

I was only using 10 weeks for a while, figuring that was on the long side actually, compared to 8-9 weeks that many use, but it always came out weak, harsh and low yield. Eventually I decided to just let it go for a really long time and found out that was the problem all along, harvesting a month too early, that would certainly do it. Now I get at least 700 g in a 3'x3' space, buds are filled in and potent.

Weed takes 13-15 weeks to ripen, period, every strain I ever tried, even ones that are specifically supposed to be "fast". There is no fast ripening weed, just weed that people cut while still nowhere near ripe and pretend it's ripe. That's why US outdoor weed in Washington, Oregon and Colorado all sucks, none of it is ripe or close to it. It might as well have been grown in Poland or London. Even indoor growers in those states don't use long grow times, because they know they can sell utter crap to the average citizen of those states because none of them have ever seen ripe weed. People who think growing decent weed is quick and easy are kidding themselves. It would be great if weed DID ripen in 8-10 weeks, sadly it doesn't.

I feel very strongly that most of the effect from the weed is strain based, and not based on when you harvest. If you harvest early, you get less high, and it doesn't last as long. If you let it ripen properly then you get much more high, and it lasts much longer.

If you want an upbeat and speedy high, grow a strain that is known for providing that like Cinderella 99. I've grown strains that were very couchlock, and others that were not.

I've never grown a plant that was REALLY finished at under 8 weeks of actual flower time. Actual flower time begins when the plant starts forming flowers, not at 12/12 flip. Many people try to count the transition period as part of the flowering time which leads them to believe that the plants have been flowering longer then they actually have.

I don't count flower time, and havn't in years, its pointless. The plants will be done whenever they are done.
