BUBBLE GUM, ICE, THC BOMB, and a special surprise

This is my first grow journal and im new to this forum how ever im always willing to learn... Please refrain from telling me all the benefits of HPS OR MH LIGHTING as this is not an otion under any circumstance in my case... although yes they probably are a little or even a lot better

This is gonna be a semi stealth closet grow.

Seeds - Bubblegum, THC Bomb, Ice, and mix that i got from seed bank as a bonus

Lights - 2 40W 4500ºK 48" (Cool White)
1 20W 5500ºK 24" (Plant AQUA)
2 26W 6500ºK CFL (Daylight)
1 26W 3500ºK CFL (Warm White)
1 13W BLUE *Party bulb*
*If any one knows the color spectrum and or temp of this blue light please let me know*

Soil - Miricle Grow Organic

Nutes - None Yet ( too Young)
Veg- GREEN GREEN and or general 20-20-20 diluted to half
Flower - Shultz African Violet Food 8-14-9

plants are 10 days from sprouting please help me identify as i smoked a Joint before hand and forgot to label

Pots - Peat cups for now
(takes 45 min drive to go to any Store of any kind where i live)

Please make any recomendations as you see fit

Today day 11 2-28-09
Pix included Waterd twice today.
Kinda Warm so watered twice cups dry untill now.
Transpated one plant yesterday into rockwool and a wick system in my back yard.


SOME 1 Please comment on my little grow im looking for a little comparison as i've never grown "Purchased Seeds" before

Bought Several more CFL's and waterproof outdoor sockets.
Also picked up 2 1.5 watt LED white bulbs... (says replaces 40 W.... just for fun to add a little light...)

If LED no good for growing .... will put in rest of house to reduce overall energy consumption..... a good idea for any home grower....

been on vacation.... since last post.... plants had a severe underwatering condition when I returned...

Since i have fixed it...... it also became root bound.

Today I transplanted to bigger containers ..... all is well

Pics coming soon... All new bulbs are 6500º K daylight 27W 6 in total

Changed grow room around because ne containers wouldn't fit in old spot.

Total lights are now

1x 4ft shop light 5500ºK 2 bulbs x 40 W
1x 2ft Shop light 4500ºK Grow bulb 20 W
7x 26 W CFL's 6500º K in "Y" Splitters

282 W total output (1100 W equivilent)
20,862 Lumens in a 2ft X 2 ft area
70.5 W per Sq. FT.
5215.5 Lumens per Sq. FT.

Nutes:
Osmocote 19-9-6 (time Release pellets)
weak solution of miricle grow twice total (20-20-20) diluted half
1/2 bottle of "Green Green" (contents UNKNOWN) writtten in Japanese

Soil:
1/4 MG Organic
3/4 General Potting Soil (unfertalized)

Plant in back yard discoverd missing upon return home from vacation.... ;( Think cat got it.....

Day 26:

As soon as I can find my Camera ill take pics of crop.....
Added very dilute African violet nutes for good measure only 2 drops per quart instead of the recomended 7
plants responding to transplant well.... didd some pruning.... new leaves appearing from stalk..

Plants appear to have recovered well from the heat and water problem. However they appear to be alittle stretched from the seedling stage but have since developed 1/4 to 1/2 in. internode spacing... due to addition of the afformentioned lights... with the first internode appearing between 2 and 4 inches above the soil.... Stalks are healthy green and strong. All is well today for now

Temps in the mid 70's to low 80's but good air circulation and plants and air around them are cool to the touch

Here are the pix of the crop.... you can see the damage caused from the drought. it has stunted growth... but they have recovered nicely and are on theyre way again

Got bored and built home made hydro set up for 1 bubble gum plant.
Resivoir - 3 Gal "UTZ" pretzel jar.
Water - 2 Gal with MG 20-20-20 diluted 1/2 + some rooting powder
Medium - 1/2 Mini rockwool Cube 1cm2 and 1/2 Potting Soil (Unfertalized)
Accs. 1 "Happy JACKFISH" bait bubbler 110V 3 spd.
Under same lights as other plants.

Went to friends house whom i gave some seeds... all doing fine except one so i made room in my hydro set up for it.
Strain unknow but from my stock. Plant is obviously stretched and starting to burn. Transplanted it to Hydro for life support. Didnt have room for it in space in its own pot. If she's got a chance ill try to save her..... I refuse to give up on a runt till its over.

Also added a new CFL

Hey man, Bubble Gum is a hell of a good smoke... this is first time growin it. Smoked three time some of the best ive ever had.

I've come up with a new idea.....

I've decided to alter the light cycles daily in the amount of light the plants recieve...
Some days will be all lights some will be only the 80 watt tubes for like a cloudy day....
some will be lit on leftside for partly cloudy effect or the right side..... or different combos because i have 360º lighting

Today all subjects still recovering nicely except the wounded one i saved.... she's sstruggling so i reduced light to 80W cool tubes only 3in above plant. Hopefully sheel recover.

daily light output today is 80W toal over 4 sq ft
14,800 total lumens.... 7,400 per bulb
3,700 lumens per Sq.Ft
20W per Sq.Ft.

Watered with plain Water.

i am a total noob but was under the impression that 3000 lumens per sq ft is on the side of bare minimum. You have 4-5 plants growing in 4 sq ft? Seems to me you need more light however your plants look fine!
Plz correct me if im wrong

Well ordinarally i have 308 Total Actual Watts Which is like 1,100 Watt equivilent. in varieng blue spectrums mostly 6500º K on 4 Sq Ft. but since im dealing with a burned and dried out subject i've decided to cut back for today to 80 Total W. to give the plant a rest and to reduce output. sometimes at night i replace the CFLS with LED 1.5W x 8 total of 12 W. It's not super bright but it is like a full moon night. no heat and no power consumption. So they are always on a 24 hr. light cycle but 12 hours are reduced for my benefit. Normally i have 22,862 Lumens spread out over 4 Sq ft. 360º around the plants plus i just got a 100 W HPS to add 9,400 Lumens to the equation. it should be here soon.

When the LED's are in the Grow room the CFL's are in the rest of the house. Then I switch them. So there is no total increase in Power bill.

Also have 3 more sockets and y connecters to add 6 more bulbs as needed to maintain full spread.

TODAY 3- 20 all is well except for the little burned one i fear it may not survive. It's day 31 pictures will soon follow....
i believe i have a nutrient def. i bought a PH tester and and fert tester. PH was slightly high not bad though so i adjusted with lemon juice. also added blood and bone meal..... and watered well still need thermometer. the bone and blood meal brought nutes back to acceptable levels. Blood meal 12-0-0 and bone meal is 1-11-0 plan on adding some more "Green Green" still have no clue whats in it.

Day 35

Bubblegum plant looks kinda sad not really sure what the problem is but i added extra water because temps run kinda warm. in the 80's and no way of fixing that right now. other plants look happy and healthy. except the little one i took it off life support tonight.

Side note... Friend who i got this plant from had two others in 5 gal. buckets with only one CFL 6500ºK in eack and they are amazingly huge..... i cant beleive it it is two buckets side by side with one lamp socket and "Y" adapter with two bulbs place in the connected edges of the buckets....

I rearranged lights and containers to make 308 Watts in 2.5 Sq.Ft.

100 Watt HPS not here yet but will be soon then i will really need some sort of cooling .....

Other plants that have been given away.... 1 became male and has been pulled.... 2 have become nice healthy outdoor ladies. 1 became a friends pet project in cultivation.....

30 more to go this summer.....

What a great summer it will be...

40 days from seed... i have two pics included more on the way but camera died on me. first one is of bubblegum she looks sad still but hanging in there....PH and fert levels have been corrected for the most part but still waiting on full recovery..... she is showing improvement.

The second is my THC bomb i beleive... it is happy and healthy..... fert slightly high so i will flush with plain water tomarrow... PH is spot on.... it;s so bushy i cant see the stalk... not much elongated outward growth... a really bushy plant.

My Ice plant is healthy but a little yellowing on lower leaves... belived to be a P deficiancy but added balanced fert for good measure 1/2 dose... It looks like a mini Palm Tree due the the severe pruning i had to do to save her.

The fourth is the unknown... it is a bit stretched but very bushy top with undergrowth starting... and very healthy green color.

Added a new little plant to the garden but it is not weed it is a cool lookin little plant i found after visiting a friends grave site.

Added 1 Extra 6500 K bulb for total of 331 W 24,716 Lumens over 3 Sq. ft
Changed two blue 6500ºK bulbs for 2700º K Bulbs.... make the light a little more balanced.

PH on all plants in 6-7 range
Fert Levels on all subjects is in the ideal range on my Fert meter.

Since last post ive covered top of soil with Sphagnum moss. it seems to help insulate soil from heat.

Growth has slowed considerably and some damage has occured to my favorite plant (bubblegum) but i believe my plants will be ok. i think i had nute lockout which caused numerous symptoms of other problems. so i made it worse by adding more and more ferts and slightyly burning it. but I added Key lime juice to water and let it sit over night now PH is 6.3-7.0


Added Miricle Grow sticks to soil (6-12-6)
