Quite some time ago I built a DIY bubble cloner that worked exceptionally well. I did nothing to it but add tap water (it was soft water/few mineral salts) , turn on the bubble stone, and a regular misting. I was successful with 25 clones out of 30 and haven't cloned any other way.
I recently moved and now have very hard water, so I use R/O to grow. With the R/O water I am having more trouble getting roots from the smaller clones, I believe this is due to a nutrient deficiency. Is this a reasonable assumption? What nutrients does a plant need while in the cloning stage?
