Bubble and Bho.

Ok. Someone i know is venturing into concentrates. Has been making them with exceptional results.
My question is that after a run of bho. or a run of bubble hash. My friends material still has visible trichs on it.

My question is how does he get the most effective results. alot of time he is running buds not trim . and he wants to get all of the crystals possible.

So can he first do a bubble run . Then dry out the material and then do a bho run of the same material ?

What your seeing is most likely the stalks of the trichome. The little bulb on top that looks like a mushroom cap is what gets collected when making hash or bho. Make one or the other, preferably ice water extraction because BHO is just unhealthy and childish unless you really know what your doing. Peace.

Yes you can and is what we usually do after dry sieve or bubble. We typically stop at about 10% kif yield, before stripping the rest with a solvent.

As DK notes, it is the capitate heads that contain the goodies, so don't be confused by the hairs and stalks that are left behind.

here is another question. if he does a run of bho. can he let the herb dry out and then cook it into some budder for edibles ? if there was any butane left . wouldnt the high tempatures from simmering it with butter get rid of anything left. especially since the remaining thc will just adhere to the fat in the budder ?

Lol you have already done an Ice water extraction, that alone probably picked up 80% of the trichomes and if you we're to blast it with butane then your just gonna get a product that will most likely be more green than yellow and it will undoubtedly taste like shit, that being said if you we're to throw that used up weed inside butter you will just ruin a stick of butter, if your trying to make edibles just use your bubble...
Take like 5 grams of the bubble kief and throw it into a stick of butter and heat it while stirring, this is the easiest method of making butter ever lol
That will make some edibles that will blow you the fuck away

I have never tried it in that order, but ostensibly it would extract the balance of the oil. I'm thinking that I would do a small run to check for taste and quality first.

If you are using a single pass columnm, perhaps a better plan would be to repack the column and do a second run to glean the residuals. When we get through extracting oil using BHO, it would be a serious waste of time to try to extract much else with butter.
