Bubba Kush Katsu- From Greenthumb Seeds

Hello,
This is the one I have been waiting on for a very long time. Every time I would finish up a grow and get ready to order these seeds they would sell out before I could get them. It's been a couple years of that going on but now I finally have them.

For these I will probably be going back to the Drain to Waste method using JAcks Classic nutrients and promix soil. I will veg around 60 days to get some nice big plants and a good yield. I tasted a small sample of the bubba katsu a couple years ago and it is everything it's cracked up to be....cant wait!!
I started them last thursday and less then 24hours later they had tap roots...24 hours after that, they had cracked the soil. Doc sent 4 seeds of the Bubba but unfortunately at least one of them was damaged in shipping. It was cracked open and the shell had come completely off. I could also see where something had made an impression on the shell of another seed. But the two I put in paper towel came out just fine. I have one seed left over but am not sure if the damage is enough to kill it or if it will still be a good backup seed for me.

All that to say that I will have 2 bubba katsu's going and hope to get a killer mother plant from them.

Doing dtw in pro mix interesting. Have you compared it to coco?

I like using the promix for my seedlings but after that I like the growth and the reason I can keep them them in small containers and get big plants using coco.

I haven't tried Coco only the Promix. Im pretty new to DTW and am still dialing it in. I am going to take a closer look at your grows....might have to make a switch. If i do go that route I will be asking you a bunch of questions....hope you don't mind.

Not a problem. It would be cool to compare current grows as I just started a stardawg grow from topdawg genetics I only got 4 to sprout up but the genetics are (chem #4 x tres dawg(chem d x chem d bx2)) so they are basically the same except yours are the fem off the clone and mine is a cross of the clone lol.
I have them in 16 oz cups of coco and plan on transplanting to 1 gallon grow bags of coco soon and veg them until I can take cuts.

nice haven't seen the katsu cut bubba in a grip.. should get purple and yield better then the pre 98.... I prefer the pre 98.. it has significan man stopping power... like a .45

24 hours later.....a group shot then bubba #1 and bubba #2..

i wondered that because the Bubba OG is so powerful. The katsu is potent but i think it's the taste of it that sets it apart....not that the pre 98 tastes bad at all.

What's up Doc ( no Bugsbunny attempt either lol) thanks for letting me know bout this grow. Yeah that's why I'm a little worried bout ordering those 2 for $200 because if my two was two of your four I'm screwed! When I order the Bog I'll ask the Dr the what ifs.

You know u guys have sold me on the BOG lol I can't wait!

not sure exactly what you are talking about but let me take a guess.

in all the years and all the packs of GT gear i believe this is the first time i have had the Post Office damage them. Not sure if it was the Canadian Post or the USPS but i guess it happens every once in a while, but not often.

I totally believe u. Hey let me ask u what's the tastiest five strains u tasted and with this grow will u be employing the flush feed method u said u got from Riddle me? What type of water do u "rain" with? How often will u use this method for this grow?

I dont do the "rain" thing anymore....takes too much time.

Top 5 huh? Very tough question but i will give it a go.
1) Oregon Dog Shit
2) Bubba Katsu
3) Bubba OG
4)1970's Maui Wowie
5) 1970's Columbian Gold

I just looked up the Oregon dog shit : Oregon 'Dogshit': 'The real' Big Bud Sativa phenotype X Northern Lights/Williams' Wonder. Is it beans or clone only? Why is the bubba ur growing now better than the BOG in ur rankings? Only the taste or all the way around? I know the bubba katsu gets purple so I know it has great bag appeal plus taste good is that why?

the Dogshit was clone only.
That was only a taste ranking.....a friend had the bubba and it tasted incredible...just a bit better then the BOG but pretty close just the same.

i think the "rain" method works but its not worth the effort. i just make sure i have plenty of run off every time i feed or water.

I definitely water with plenty of run off but I still think u benefit by doing a full flush in between feedings. Yeah that dog shit is clone only. So what's stronger the bubba katsu or the BOG? And where does the chemdawg rank with the bubba katsu and the BOG

Doc rates the BOG as more potent then the katsu. The Chem is right up there with the BOG but they have a different buzz profile. I dont know...they are all strong it just depends on what you like.

i still flush but only once or twice during the grow.

wow!! your doing a great job with Dr.Greenthumbs strains..just browsed through some of your journals,that Chem 4 looks insane..Your sour D looks great the reason i got my mmj rec was cause i had tasted some sour d back in 05 and it was lip smacking good!!i was on the hunt for the same sour d and never found it..i might have to give his genetics a go sometime..

you wont be sorry with the SD. Someone from another site grew it out and it tested at 27%.
