Brutal honesty time: should you flower after treating PM on plants in veg?

So I’ve got to ask, since I’ve done a lot of reading and can’t find the brutal honesty. I know there are so many methods at containing/treating Powdery Mildew, and have exhausted most popular routes - however; wettable sulphur seems to have “nuked” it. Also, the environment is dialled in, But..

I’m currently in Veg, ready to flip, and wondering if I should even try with these girls, or make the unfortunate decision of trashing them. I don’t want to, but if there’s only a minimal chance of success, harvesting without PM, I’d rather start over and avoid the headaches.

I’ve read alot and it seems 50% say that PM will come back, and ravage the buds, where as the other says it’s gone for good.

what was your experience with PM in veg? Was it worth flowering? Did it come back? I’d love to flip and flower, but not if I can’t smoke em. Don’t want mold/mildew buds

hate to post these types of questions, as the info is all online ready to read! but I can’t find brutal honesty online, only “yeah dude, it’s gone, flip it, if it comes back, h2o2 wash and smoke!”

can you really flower successfully if you got PM in veg under control?

Dude, if all that white stuff is actually powdery mildew then you need too chop, toss, and in the bin, and start over! There's no way they will produce anything But garbage bud in the end. I've never seen a veg'd plant wi so much PM. Now, that you got a small tent tells everyone that your humidity is wayyy to high. Take it as a learning experience chief. :peace:

Thats sulfur spray. You probably joking and already knew that though. Was just saying in case you were serious.

The pictures posted are covered in sulphur spray, looks a lot like PM as it coats the leaves and leaves a sulphur barrier. I’m doing a second spray tonight before flip, but wanted to see how others did flipping after treatment.

side note: never had PM before, and these 2 were “gifted” to me, already kicking my ass for accepting thembut trying to decide if they are worth even flipping or just cull. I have a dialled in environment, so it’s not my environment issue, but previous owners who really let things go and “passed the buck” so to speak. Super upset they did that to me, even more upset at myself for accepting.

Just wanted to ask if PM is a crop killer, or is it possible to flower and harvest after treatment. So many people post about PM but wanted the honest answer if I should scrap or if it’ll be worth the effort.

really, p.m. isn't like botrytus, if you stop it before flower and fix the conditions that made it possible in the first place, i'd flower the fuck out of those plants
you might want to do a little light selective pruning. look for the sun leaves that are laying on top of each other, making wet transpiration spots between them

You can survive PM, but it often comes back and requires constant vigilance. You can treat for PM up until week ~3 of flower, then you're best not to spray stuff on the plant. I've seen crops ruined with PM. I'd image most people would start over and sterilize the environment/equipment.

"BANISH" FUNGICIDE ! I tried all the suggested treatments, didn't work. Banish was a godsend for me. Still vegging, I hit the plants twice and PM gone. It's a geranium oil extract..
It actually kills the mold. It attacks the "hook" that PM pierces mycellium with. Other pm sprays are more of a preventative. I worked in environmental testing for 39yrs.....specs regarding safety/health look damn good to me. Some people spray with some toxic materials and or materials that have toxic qualities upon combustion.

Ok ok… wow they are brutal on telling you to kill your hard work. I have had my wars with pm. And have found my solution in the farming industry. Use milk water…. 30% milk 70% water, spray heavily all over the plant top to bottom and let it dry. The dried milk is a anti bacterial and will eradicate the mold and rinses away clean. I treat my girls early in their lives and only once in flower. Rinse well before harvest and have zero issues with pm at this point.

By the way I have a basement grow… so pm was gonna be a issue. Sorted it out quickly with the milk water. Thankfully I have family that grow veggies on a farm and was told about it and it works great. Best part is it’s not harmful to us. Non toxic as it gets.

He was having a hell of a time with pm. Outdoors Northern Ontario. I'll ask him where he found it out but he swears by it now. I've personally not used it But if I did get pm I'd use it
