Broken Taproot Help

Hey, I just had my blue cheese sprout in a jiffy pellet and was transplanting into a solo cup, i usually remove the netting just to make it easier for the roots but this time i removed it and snapped the taproot....will it survive or should I just start another seed?

even though it has its first set of leaves? and only broke off the bottom 1/4 inch?

Well, it may survive - but you've already shocked the poor thing horribly.
It will probably end up turning male or hermie from the stress, and because of its damaged taproot it will never reach its full potential.
It's doomed to be a sad looking plant.

That's a dismal response. There's no harm in trying to grow it out, is there?. Sometimes a young plant can recover from such trauma and turn into a MEGA producer. Give it a shot if you've got the space!

All I'm saying is that a healthy seed will outgrow that damaged one overnight, it's going to be stunted... There's a small chance it will bounce back.

well its still holding strong, I hate thinking about taking all the time to grow this plant and not knowing if it will be a hermie or not.... especially since its a feminized seed

just put in into a zip lock bag paper towel with the seedling sticking out the top it will grow back faster that way

well my friend, it has survived and is thriving

Way to hang in there! I just had some fun with jiffy pellets & clones. They worked exceptionally well. All clones took. When I tried taking off the netting which was obviously choking roots I tore a few off. I shoulda just left it on, but you can see the difference in root size on either side of the netting. Next time I'll plump them & remove the net before I start.

I'm praying mine survive and thrive as well. Thanks for the inspiration!
