Broken stem

Hey y’all, while doing some low stress training - tying down the four main branches to spread em out (I topped her twice). I guess I wasn’t low enough on the stress part and I split the stem right down the middle, about 1” long. I quickly taped it.
My question is, has anyone ever heard of using gorilla glue, the adhesive not the strain;) to glue stems and branches back together? Sounds crazy, but a well-respected gardener did it on his YouTube channel and it worked great. I’m still skeptical.

You did right by taping it up.

Gorilla glue has me skeptical, krazy glue is a known and proven method for fixing human wounds. I would try it in a plant, external only.

Does Gorilla Glue insta-bond?

I would use this, it's designed for it. Glues like you speak of can cause damage to the plant. It could work but I would not chance it.

Taping it would be better. If you glue it, it will look better and might be fine but theres a better chance you could hurt your plant. Taping it would do the same thing without the risk.

It dries in about five minutes and cures it in 24hrs. I’m gonna leave well-enough alone and stick to the tried and true method of tape. Thank you

I’ve heard of this, but had no idea what it was called. Thank you

One more question - It’s watering day (soil), do you think that would be too much stress in one day, or should I go ahead and water?
Well if she absolutely needs water shes going to be stressed inevitably. If you can go a day and the soils ok than wait a day. But I say water her like normal. Your plants roots and ability to transpire is working fine for the plant still.
