Broke one of my stems mid flower. Keep or chop off??

Something fell on this stem last night, she's got a really nice bud on top and I dont want to lose it, that's my desperate attempt at splinting her up, do you think it will heal? It's not fully broken anywhere that's why I havnt taped her up, but its badly bruised, the two little buds underneath the wound just died instantly but it seems fine since I splinted it, just worried about it getting some sort of infection or disease and it spreading down the plant? Is this possible? I suppose it's essentially just been supercropped but I know that's dangerous in mid flower, any suggestions welcome.

as long as you have some of the cubryon layer lef, the green outer skin of the stem, she will still grow albeit very slowly

It does, have all of the outer in tact, only it's not green any more, its brown, as shown in photo, I'm gutted it didn't break the outer layer to be fair because there's at least a chance it would just form a knuckle there, but it just looks dead where that wound is to me, but everything above it looks fine, I'm just wondering if maybe its taking a while for that part of the plant to recognise that its wounded I'm probs just over fussing

you have a rudimentary splint on there, so all should be good.
It 'looks' relatively early in flower from your pics (a few weeks).
You'll hopefully end up with a big 'knuckle' on the stem (where the injury occurred) ..which might turn beneficial in the long run :)

That's what I'm hoping for, I have read that it can be beneficial for your yields so I'm hoping that's the case, I'll report back and let you all know If she recovers
