Hey there, I'm pretty new to this and just signed up today to the forum. I've been growing on and off for like 6 years now but haven't been able to get that really good fire flame after my second grow. Maybe it was soil cuz it was in-ground and the plants grew to be like 13ft tall, plus, my dad was the onw who planted the seeds and I'm pretty sure he has the green thumb. Anyways, I broke a a branch near the top of one of my plants. I'm pretty sure they've been flowering for close to 6 weeks, the buds are a decent size but i can still see a lot of white pistils so I think they're not ready yet. So I broke this branch that's literally right underneath the main top cola and I was late for work so I just decided to cut it off. Was this a mistake?? Should I have left it or tried to fix? Since I cut off the branch will the plant put more energy into making the cola bigger?? I was thinking that it would of been better to cut it off because the plant wouldn't waste more energy trying to heal. OR is it the opposite and now the plant is gonna waste more energy cuz she's in shock? Also since I cut it off will the plant put more energy into making the buds at the top bigger or will the flowering growth be slowed down now? I know this is a long post but I want to be as detailed as possible. Any feedback will be helpful. Thanks for taking the time to read this monster of a paragraph lol. One other thing, the plant that I broke the branch off has a lot of yellow leaves which is why this happened in the first place, what can i do to fix that? Does anyone know what kind of nutrient deficiency that is? There's also these little white things that fly off whenever i shake the plant. Are those things sucking out my plants nutrients?? I know it's a lot of questions but hopefully ya'll have the answers. Sorry I only have some pics of when the plants were like their 2nd week into flowering. But, I will post some more pics when I get home from work.
Cheers

So from what I'm getting you broke off a branch.
This could happen at any stage of growth to a plant in nature, the plant will do what it needs to to continue with it's purpose.
Current pic would be needed to help in any other way.
Sound like a deep breath might be in order.
Good Luck with your harvest,
WillieP

Thanks for the reply dude. So, do you think the over yield might increase because i cut the branch off? Or is it too late for that cuz its 7th week of flowering?
P.S I will add current photos tonight when i get home from work

Did the branch that you removed have buds on it?
If so, the plant may focus more energy to the main cola.
Really hard to say, especially this late in the game.

Yeah it was like small branch right underneath the cola, i wouldn't say it was apart of the cola but it was very close to it. You could say it was one of those buds that kind of link togther towards the top of the plant and since the it's not that dense, the buds don't come together to create one massive cola. So it was a small 4 inch branch but had a pretty decent size bud on it.

Yeah, what WillieP said. It isn't going to hurt anything. It will not however increase your yield. Next time it happens,,,and it will. It always does eventually. Just tape it back in place. I always keep a roll of wide masking tape and /or electrical tape near the plants just in case.
If a branch breaks near the main stalk, just lift it back in place and tape it back. If it's further out on a branch or a main stalk. Use a chopstick or piece of copper wire or whatever else you have on hand to make a splint and tape it back together. Most of the time the branches will be fine.
Good luck friend!

Besides what you cut off It's not gonna effect your yield otherwise. Next time If it's still attached try bracing and taping it up. Best you can do now is dry and taste it the broken branch.

Sometimes, it's just part of growing.
One of my outdoor girls snapped a main cola from Beta rolling through.
She's still a few weeks away from the finish but it will make good medicine.
