Bringing my plants inside today. Am I giving them too much light?

I keep messing up on this.
Alright, I'm bringing my plants in today because they weren't getting enough light outside. Now I am worried that I might be giving them too much light. I have 3 1000 watt sunsystem lights. here's a picture. They are as far as I could put them.

I've always heard that you can't have to much light.

This is just my opinion, and if they are as old as I think they are. How old are they? The lights should be as close as possible with out burning the plants. 1000w should usually be about 3 ft away.

They are like 3 or 4 weeks. Here's a pic of one up close. I just moved my lights 3 feet from the tallest plant. Is HPS O.K for veg? Its all I got. this pic was takin today before I brought them in.

HPS will do for veg, better if you get some dual spectrum bulbs then they are great. As for the lights you cant give them too much, but 3 1000w lights must be kicking out a damed lot of heat even with air-cooled hoods. But as long as our keeping your temps under control ( 26C or about 78f is good ) and a good light schedule ( I like 18/6 in vegging ) then you should do good.
